I can commend that Por15 stuff, just did touch ups for now on my old chassis and some bits look new.

I'm looking at a rotissery job when I return to rejuvinate my chassis. How do you brush this stuff on over multiple faces without getting run bleeds but still getting that self settling effect this paint seems to have?

Stephen, I think the mistake many of us make is to try and make the newly painted coat perfect. What worked for me was to apply it really quickly and not worry about brush marks. It seemed to settle beautifully even on areas I thought were rat$hit.

Even if you do get some marks in the first coat they will settle with the second coat. Dont think you will get by with one heavy coat cuz it will run, but frankly, you've gotta apply a really heavy coat for it to run.

I found by the time I painted the suspension bits and pieces that I learned the knack to apply to larger areas like the chassis..

Harrisons are becoming a force, the way they
are going, it won`t be too long before they will
out number the DRB`s up here.

Looks like your choice of motor is the go as well.

Good to meet you on Saturday. I bet you have never looked in the rear veiw mirror so many times before than on the trip home.
I certainly think the Harrison is a good choice and it will be good to see your progress.

The L76 has finally arrived!!!

Pity I am not ready to bolt her in yet...

Oh well, it's good to have it in the shed, as well as all of the other parts of the Jigsaw.

Nothing like a brand spanking new engine.

Out of curiosity, what is the actual manufacture date? Was that listed on the original for sale ad, does it match the engine.

First thing I would be looking for in that box is the ECU & wiring harness.

I will check the manufacture date tonight, I think it was in Jan. some time.
ECU and harness are the two items on back order...

I just got off the phone from Stewart and he tells me the wiring looms are due in today and our puters are away being flashed at the moment.

I can't have a go at him for being a Victorian until after I get my engine.

He tells me he may stick his nose on the forum.

hey when u get the wiring let us know if u have it all

im ordering some plugs for an aussie ls2 for ian at classics

he has an ls2 and to get all the stuff needed u have to buy 2 other looms from holden which add up to over 1000

im hoping to get the plugs needed and make a loom to suit for much cheaper

not sure if the crate motors are same setup but if u can look at loom and check to see u have all 3 plugs on the ecu and the plug on the pedal sensor

if all ls2 engine have this prob i will order more than one plug and start selling the missing section of wiring


the newer the engine the more pain in the ass they are these days

Thanks sideshow, I'll give you a call if I need anything.

My invoice shows two harnesses. Engine and Throttle as well as something called cable Batt positive. Self explanatory I spose.

I did read somewhere that these newer engine using the E38 does away with the TAC module so I guess that saves a harness. The throttle wires directly to the E38. I think this is a departure from the LS2.

However, we don't know until we see what we have.

ive had to buy o2 sensors for a customer cause he bought a new crate motor from holden these cost 100 bucks each for an ls1
problem is the guys behind counter dont tell customers that this and that is missing they just sell it as they see it on the microfische and thats it

these days if anyone is buying a crate motr best hting is to do a check list
even if u have bougt a new crate motro do a list and see whats missing
maybe u can post it up somewhere so people know what to look out for

the newer engines these days are gettin less and less user freindly heheheeheh

O2 sensors are on the list....

I'd be surprised if there isn't something missing, however, the service so far has been great.

I ordered the L76 and said exactly this to the parts manager......

"I want everthing to make this engine start and run. That includes alternators, starters, ecm, FBW throttle bits and pieces, all sensors, and the ECM vats removed and the ECM programmed with a tune.( I had no idea what I was talking about but it sounded good)"

I told him I'd supply all fuel requirements to the engine and didn't want the power steering pump..

So far the service has been great and he seems to know whats wanted.

thats good advice to others buying stuff say u want everything needed
to make it run

i have always been the type to pay abit more to get complete kit and not worry later on
