Default K&N pod filter oiling

G'day all

Bought a K&N pod filter some time ago and made up all bracketry to fit but wont do this until closer to start up but was reading the bumff in the packet about oiling these filters.

I do know there is a branded filter cleaning kit but is there anything special to the reoiling of these filters? How have others reoiled their filters?

Cheers

Stephen, I've cleaned and re-oiled my K&N filter using their kit. Spray on the cleaner, let soak, rinse off with water. Don't use compressed air but let the filter thoroughly dry and then spray with the included oil. The kit contains plenty of both cleaner and oil to do the filter several times. My filter does have the instructions on it to oil before using but mine came pre-oiled. If the filter element is reddish color, its already oiled.

I've got the filter kit Slowy. I can bring the spray can of K&N oil along to one of the club meetings if you like.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

I was planning to get a kit Mike in the first instance anyway just curious to know whether there is a non-proprietory way of oiling the kit.

Cheers

Just spray along the pleats, don't overdo it as the oil will "wick" into the remaining area of the pleats. Spray the pleats lengthwise, let it sit for a while and look for any areas are not of a uniform color (red).
