I looked at what I though was every option under the sun and found I had 3 basic choices: Millaz (champagne glass), Dragway (Cobras) or a selection from other manufactures (inc Simmons etc) that looked great but were not what I was after. I checked the offsets on American Racing, Vintage and Trigo and found that the only option was to extend the front guard which I wasn't too keen on.

Check out my gallery and you will see the wheels attached to a car that is sitting on the hoist in Warwick's workshop. There are also some photos of the same size wheels (with tyres - 255/50x16, 225/50x16) on another Harrison's. On the rear, you can see what I mean about the extra 10-15mm offset that may be able to be achieved.

(NOTE: these photos may be confusing since the wheels look the same and the car is the same colour but there are two cars here and two different sets of wheels!!)

I will post some measurements in a couple of months when the wheels and rubber come together.

Cheers mate. Yes I saw those pics and I believe I saw one of those cars when I visited Harrisons - it was a late model Ford blue with white stripes.

Yeah I know, they look awesome but the geometry on the Harrison limits us to only a few choices. I will get them, it'll just take longer to save!

I could be a chance for the Melbourne GTG but it's a ways off yet!

Thought this might be of interest.
It's that light blue Cobra from the Dark Side, that Warwick has under construction.
It's looking great.

That's the one - thanks Wazza.

Hey do you have any idea what those seats are in the black Cobra with yellow stripes? There's a few cockpit shots of the car, they look pretty modern.

Mazda RX-7 seats, just recently re-trimmed. See if Wazza can chime in here and remember what series/year. Very good seats actually, been in them quite a few times.

Mazda MX-5 seats have also been popular. Although hard to find even at importers now. We were one of the first or the first to use MX-5 seats, spent a long time searching importers for seats to fit the Harrison. Then passed word around the club when we had found something that fitted well. Note you fit passenger seat to drivers side and vice versa.

If you are looking for donor seats, think very small sports car. Anything bigger than MX-5/RX-7 and the seats won't fit. If you just end up with side bolsters on the base being squeezed between the tunnel and outside wall(seat a little on wide side) you can get the trimmer to skinny them down a little, but they have to be a close fit, you don't want to lose too much bolster.

Thanks for spending all that time searching - made my searching a whole lot easier!!

New players beware!! Warwick has recently made some changes to more easily house the current rash of 6 speed boxes and even the MX-5 seats may be a little on the wide side now. I know mine really only just fit so unmodified MX-5 seats might be quite a squeeze now.

Geof

Looks like seat choices are slowly narrowing. I believe there's a bloke in Melbourne making replica style seat with headrests - does anyone know whether these are an easy fit, width-wise?

Hi Sambo,

You may be referring to Laurie at RCM. He makes original style seats with headrests. In a RCM they are an easy fit as they are narrow. Nice looking seat in my opinion. I'll PM you for his contact details if you like?

Another option is seats from a Honda S2000. That's what I've used as I wanted a more modern look. They are about the same size as a MX5 seat but they are wider across the shoulders.

Cheers

Thanks Al, please send Laurie's details through. Honda S2000... will check em out! Still going for the retro look at this stage, depending on how much side bolstering I can get for when I do track time.

Hi Guys,
They'r Mazda RX7 Series 6 Seats,

Discovered them at a wrecker, and couldn't believe they were skinny enough to fit in a DRB.
I removed the slide rails, and mounted them flush on a plate on the floor.
Last week got theinterior all done, and had the seats all "leathered up" , and they look like they belong , so I'm happy.

Regards,

Warren
