Over here in the wild west you can still use the injected 5.0 Ford motor... When I go to club meetings they all give me a hard time about my "engine choice".... because over here it is my choice.
Of all the cars in my club, I am the only person using an LS1 (so far), and there is one using an EFI Holden 5.0 litre.

What I find interesting about the whole Ford V's Chev debate is that, emission laws aside, the common ground that both groups generally accept is that a Lexus V8 is ok too. I sometimes think the debate is fuelled more by childhood allegiances rather than what a Cobra traditionally used.
That said, Ford's still rule and Chevs still suck!

With no local industry to protect the WA crowd have some of the more sensible car rules.
I remember being at Hot Rod/Street Machine show there in 2000 and people were selling kits pre-approved by the rego authority for upgrading early ford (XM/P) and Holdens (EK, EH) to V8's
Maybe we need to ship our cobra's to Perth for rego?!

From what I have seen, WA seems to follow QLD.
It looks like we will no longer be able to get 302w engines approved from the start of 2008.
The only thing WA has over us, is that they can have true side exhausts.
Talk about emissions seems to be always followed by
