Default Dramas with interstate transfers of rego?

Good people,

A lot of the Cobra replicas I see for sale seem to come from the Sunshine State.

What are the pitfalls in trying to get interstate cars registered in NSW? (if any.... or many)

Check out the RTA website. It tells you pretty much all you need to know.

Thanks...I just checked it out...

So besides the obvious stuff (proof of ID, receipt of purchase green slip etc, etc) you need a blue slip and an engineers certificate.

Any other hidden traps?

The engineers certificate has to be by a RTA authorised engineer, i think it had to be regestered interstate for a peroid of years, the number 7 comes to mind but you should check that, it was 2 years ago, but apart from that all i needed was a roadworthy cert, and blue slip and reciept of purchase. Best of luck.

If you are serious about buying interstate, give the main engineer here a call.

He lives in northern NSW, but does most of the Cobra, Daytona & GT40 approvals in Gold Coast & Brisbane area. I expect some also in NSW.

He knows exactly what is involved and would be the best person to do the engineering.

We looked at selling our old QLD Cobra to a person in NSW, Ray said it would just need engineers certificate and get a pit inspection. There are ways to minimise the work involved here, I'll drop you a pm with the finer details.
