The diff ratios can be changed, but not as simply as say a "nine inch" where the whole centre drops out of the housing, you will need to take it to a diff shop and have the gears changed, or find one with the ratio's you want.

I think you will be happy with the 3.54. The cruisey guys go for 3.31. I ended up with a 3.77, hardly use first gear.

Sure can Stephen, but can be expensive.

My general thought is that there are a lot of Jags being wrecked. ie diff centers are plentiful and relatively cheap in all sorts of ratios.

As long as you have built the car so that the diff is easy to get to and remove, then a change of diff is.....although a pain....a relatively simple exercise.

Buy a diff with the ratio you think you need......put it in....try it.....If it's what you want and not growling and leaking...leave it there.

If it needs attention, get it out and serviced or come to an arrangement with the wrecker.

anyone know of sources for Jag diffs in Melb?

have a 3.31 which is a very flexible ratio but need a LSD - the single spinner makes kicking the tyres too easy

Or JagAyre on Princes Highway Clayton just up from (Melb side) of Blackburn rd intersections Nth side.

Fairly likely to be cheaper than JagDaim. just be sure you know what you need as the owner might try to talk you around to all sorts of extra bits n pieces. Good salesman I suppose.
