Default Robnell on Ebay

Bidding up $140k. What seems a lot...is it?

Not sure about the baby blue -colour coded air cleaner and rocker covers, brakes.

Default What??

I find it a little strange that the bidding has gone from $1700 to $140K in one bid! Self bidder maybe?? we'll watch this one closely. I wonder.

Know of this car, was originally assembled with 427 side oiler etc 15 years ago, then pulled apart to detail etc. It was never complied.

Since then emissions laws have caught up with it and I think it would now need to be setup on gas to get through rego even with that 302. It's not compliant yet, but I've heard it's currently going through the hoops for rego. Also side pipes will need to be removed and underbody system fitted, steering wheel changed, padded dash added, speedo changed, side indicators added, seat belt warning light, seat belt warning labels, head rests, high-level brake light, reverse light, reflectors etc. etc.

It's had a lot of money spent on it, in excess of $200k is what I have heard. And a LOT of time.

It's also had offers close to that $140k figure.

In my opinion it would be worth a lot of money or a lot more desirable if it wasn't baby blue. A more traditional Cobra colour would suit it as it's a very original build.

Also notice that original Cobra indicator stalk from VW. Now that's keen.

I personally would love to have a Robnell, later model unit than this one with big block and Stefan's make over.

100% bull**** bidders, i sell lots on ebay and know how the system works, if you click on bids it shows you all the bidders and there bids ,when you are out bid your previous bid shows up,in this case bidder 2's first bid on this car was $12.35 .if you want to buy a $140,000 car you dont bit $12.35 as your first bid.The reason it went from $1700 to $140,000 is bidder 2 put in a subsequent bid over the reserve, in this case the reserve was $140,000.once you bid over the reserve ,that price will show up. Might not be the sellers fault lots of dickheads bidding on ebay.stunning car though. never seen this one before.

Assuming Bidder 2 doesn't know the seller, he would have just kept upping his bid until reserve was met. I know I have done this before on auctions. As Lewis pointed out, once reserve is met, that is the highest bid.

It looks like a very nice machine, but what the???... I personally don't like the colour...... how much time, effort and money would it take to change the colour??? He's painted absolutely everything!!!

To me, his colour choice will definitely limit his market....

Well the bids have been cancelled and the auction ended early.

I wonder if he sold it privately.
