Mike I'll take you up on the stamp offer, perhaps I'll be able to get them off you at the meeting after next, if you're back in Oz of course.
Did these stamps have to be 7mm or larger for Vicroads?
Something I did see at the Sandown swap meet last week was a lead filled mallet that doesn't bounce on impact. I reckon that's the trick to clouting the stamps without getting a rebound and hence poor stamp impression.
Do you know the hammers I mean Mike and do think that would work?
And sorry Mike I meant where there any other Vicroads issues with the VIN?
Cheers

No other issues with the VIN or engine number Slowy.
I know the hammer you are talking about. They are filled with lead shot and are usually called a dead blow hammer. I've got a couple of them and anything you wallop with one stays hit (including fingers etc). I still couldn't get a decent marking with the dead blow hammer though.
I'll bring the stamps along to the next meeting I get to.
VIC roads required 7mm or larger letters and these are about 8 or 9mm high. I've also got some smaller ones which are good for engine blocks etc.
Cheers

Thanks for that Mike, I'll ponder how I go about making the indentations right up until I borrow your stamps. Just need the big ones, my block came with a number!!
Cheers and thanks

Its just my luck. I got the car registered on Monday but my company sent me to Vietnam on Tuesday. I'm in Hanoi at the moment. Next week I go to the U.S. And the week after they are sending me to Belgium. I don't know when I'm going to get to drive it.
Cheers

I'm back in Melbourne for 2 days and then I'm off again.
You might have to take my car to the Nationals Gav. I'm not sure If i'm going to be arround for it. They are talking about sending me to India after I get back from this trip.
Scott, I'm a Systems Engineer for a company that manufactures telecommunications equipment. I set up and demo our equipment for potential customers all over the place. I also provide training and help with trouble shooting and that sort of stuff after we've made a sale.
Cheers

Do you need an electrician to join your team at all. Maybe with a jet setting lifestyle I will be able to afford to build a nice cobra
