Another sad loss.
Met his dad once (Jimmy) in the days when Quattro's had just started to revolutionise awd rallying.

Intelligent decision.
If the Lord wanted man to fly he would have been created with double-articulated rotor blades mounted on his back.
Airplanes of modest performance, however, are another story.
Colin was the greatest. Big loss.

Thanks for that Rick - What a driver he was!!
Those gravel forest roads are unforgiving. Its crazy, but the faster you go the easier it is (oh and a good set of pace notes helps big time).

Most memorable moment
spoken in a broad Scottish accent by his navigator " will you please listen to me Colin".

Rumor has it that Ford had a field full of the remains of ex-McRae cars. He was either flat out or not driving, nothing in between. His best escape was when he launched his car into a forest and landed on the top of some young pine trees. The trees bent over, deposited his car into a field and he drove off. Such talent.
And talking of helicopters, Dave Richards flew his back from Europe that same day when he heard the news and it developed an electrical problem. He landed just seconds from a disaster of his own!! I used to love doing aerial photography from a chopper, but those things don't take prisoners......

That is sad news, I loved watching him race he was always balls out on the track nothing else. What a loss to the racing ranks, we have been hit hard as of late.
