Alffie - A lot of guys here have bught tyres in from the US, from www.tirerack.com. With the dollar so good, even with shipping (although not sure about Darwin) - it works out pretty cheap compared to local. Great site to reseach different tyres if nothing else, as plenty of reviews and user comments.
Cheers

Have you looked at tire rack in the States? Even with freight you will save hundreds.
Edit - Tenrocca you beat me to it!

315x35x18 size is certainly a very odd/rare size. You sure you have that right.
Best bang for buck are:
315/35/17 Sumitomo (Tirerack)
335/30/18 Pilot Sports (online Viper dealers, ebay(US) etc)
I have some 335/30/18 Pilot sports here that I bought off Ebay US. Brand new, stickers on the tread....bargain.

I bought my Sumi's a few years ago ....and was then told a week later about TireRack looked up my purchase and found landed here I could have saved $680.00 ...It's certainly worthwhile looking overseas.

I got the specs from CR and handed in my MVR forms without realiseing how hard that size was to get. Have had to get 315/30/18 because no one makes 35 series. Which ment getting my MVR Aprovell AGAIN.

Everything is cheaper to get from the states, particually engine parts. Holden wanted $210 each for my O2 sensers, I got them from GM for $us56 for the rears and $us86 for the front 2.

Tyres
Alffie
I have a set of 295 35 18 Pirelli corsa race tyres that I am selling with a matching pair of 235 40 18s for the front.
Thread depth ok, but probably not in there stickiest condition, only 18 months old and not much track use.

Hey there Alfie, good to see another CR being built in the NT, pity we wherent all done before the speed limits came in.
Do you get down toward Alice Springs at all?
If your chasing GM bits, let me know before you buy anything as I can get them at pretty good prices.
I just bought O2 sensors last week at $100.00 each.

not sure yet what the saving is as opposed to buying locally yet...

They have a couple of different shipping options. Get on the phone with them to discuss. I think my freight was only about US$217. The initial quote was about $400 for shipping.
Speak to Justin McNaughton. He'll sort you out. +1 888 428 8355 ext. 387
