Not sure about the rules in your state but in most states now you need an EFI motor to get registered. This means that the 350 chev engine on offer will not be usable for this car. You could probably resell the motor and trans to get some of your money back. If the wiring is set up for this engine then most of the engine loom will be of little use, although the wiring for the lights and dash is handy.
Excluding the engine/trans, the seller has probably incured costs of about $20,000 if he did some of the work himself. Although he states that the rolling chasis kit sells new for $26,000 (which would mean all of the work was done for him by the factory).
I dont know anything about the Evans kit. You might want to ring Evan's and ensure that it meets current ADR's in regards to Torsion beaming standards (chasis strength).
The work done so far looks OK so if it meets the standards it could be a good buy.

what do you mean haven't been around for a while, they dont make them anymore
would this chassis comply with current adrs, and how old do you reckon this kit is.
Not worried about the engine , dont want the motor and gbox
only interested in the rest of the car really. looks like an alright chassis

evans kits shut shop at least 5years maybe a bit more,
you can contact paul wooley from ac ( adelaide cobras ) on 0413 040502
Paul has been helping me out with my kit, I have a evans chassis, but wooley body.
short story is that these two guys were in partnership long time ago as w.e sports cars, then had a fall out and went there own ways.
my chassis is still adr approved here threw S.A,
hopefully this can help a little bit more for you

Hi Pete,
Mine is an Evans kit and passed all necessary ADR tests 3 years ago and I don't think that any thing there has changed exept for emission rules.
Cheers
Brett

Na a bit hesitant , its hard to buy something unless you can have a good look
first, although it did look ok.
I reckon somewhere around the 20 mark is what this guy was after.
If it sold for that highest bid would have been a good buy
