Run n Gun (Aussies do the USA)
I was chatting to a few crew (Mr Marsh Snr and Jnr) at the QLD breaky. An idea was created to arrange an Aussie Contingent to go over to the USA in 08 or 09 and join in the Activities of RUN n GUN!
A show of hands as to interest at this point would be noteworthy...

Spook, would you be shipping cars across to 'participate' - Now that would be fun!

r AND g
Craig, I reckon it would be awesome!! Not too sure Cam about shipping cars as the purists may turn their nose up at my little rocketship but Americans love Aussies and they may LOAN us their cars for a quick squirt across the states.....
With enough interest and some USA partnerships I think we could have a fantastic time, do some touring and all in all have a blast!
I'm in!'''

Yeah, although tempting, I doubt that I could see the value in taking a car over either.
The more I think about it, the more awesome the idea sounds.

With the header as it stands we may get some USA interest and feeback on this topic as well to see if they even want us......

I've known a few Aussies as well as a few Kiewes as well........But it would be a snow balls chance in HELL before I'd let them destroy my racecar in the GOOD OLE US of A ...............unless of course they were a personal friend of mine.

I would love to do it, but a trip to SEMA would be higher on the list for me!

Spooky, That last big red I saw you on was pretty snappy but you gotta try the birds for a really good ride.
By birds I mean Emu's.....I took one for a spin around the PM's place last night but PM John refused a gallop.

you 'run' it on the road course, and you 'gun' it on the dragstrip. Not sure where the autox comes in, tho'.
Bernie came over a couple/few years ago. He was set to come this year but life happens. Anyway... he looked into actually driving and i believe his insurance policy (personal life, not auto) put a big nix on it. But... I'm sure parade laps and track tours (very controlled speed) wouldn't be a problem. don't know for sure. I'd be happy to 'lend' somebody my car for controlled laps. No problem. Just remember.... it's left hand drive and we go counterclockwise!
not sure tho' when i can make it back up there. Sure was a great time '06.
One really nice aspect of run n gun is that it is not just a track event for drivers/participants, but also very involved, interactive for spectators.
Some events might be boring or less than fun if you didn't have a car there. But r n g welcomes visitors/spectators. You are actively involved in the paddock, and there are plenty of things for spectators to see and do.
come on over!

Well I'll just have to make sure Burnie comes on over again ...I'll be needing a chaparone ...so we may just fulfill that sweet littlecobra offer...
I've actually never noticed which way we go round,I'm sure they are all going the wrong way when i get back on the track!!!
As we all know these events are for the people to enjoy our passion for these cars......
The social aspect and the friendships formed are the likely greatest things we take home...
Seeing yall soon..... C'mon Bernie (Where the bloody hell are you!!!)'08 Let's Go!!

Other events to consider are the Western States Cobra Bash and Streets of London, all happen at different times of the year so depends on if you want to miss out on the cold or the heat at home and enjoy the cold or heat in the US. Most of them have a link or can be found with a search here on CC so fill your boots with info and have a go...definitely good fun. You'll have a tough time finding vegga-mite and 60-40 though.
