engine mounts
hi guys trying to fit boss motor today with existing header pipes, WRONG pull the motor back out, removed pipes,tried again,rear box mount to wide need to be adjusted or modified ,pull it out again,,meanwhile the engine bay is accumilating some nice scratches,, D'OH removed rear mount,,try again ,,all going well lowered engine and box ,,jacked car up so i can get underneath to align engine mounts HOLY SH#T theyre to high and wont fit cant raise engine enough to lower ontop of chassis mounts cause heads want to push through the glass guards ,,,,@#*$%#@! lift it back out ,,,,NICE scratches luckily the engine, once installed will hide most of them ,so take it back out remove mounts and box and try to make sure it fits once i have new mounts YEP she'll do but water pipe need s to be modified if i want bonnet to fit back on, anyway does anyone know which mounts are to be used, ive heard xy/xw????? help,,,,,, please ,,,,,,,someone

Don't know about the DRB but, the Kenmer uses BA mounts which are cut down to keep the engine low in the chasis.

cheers doug but i can only see that the rubber can be reduced in height,,what is the height of the ba mount from where it faces side of block top holes to mount chassis hole cheers darrell

I'll see if I can remember to ask Peter Ransom(DRB) which engine mounts to use at the club meeting tomorrow.

The reference to xy/xw mounts is good for Windsor blocks but I'm assuming the Boss motors have different attachments.
The xy mounts worked a treat in my case, if they do fit your motor, they are worth a go.

Sorry Darrell, Peter Ransom wasn't at the Club Meeting today so couldn't ask about engine mounts. He was out at Queensland Raceway getting the new DRB race car sorted. It was door-to-door racing...well I suppose what better way to do it. Neither was Gary(also of DRB), I expect he was also at QR.
