L76 Pedal
Just need clarification of the correct pedal for the L76.
When I ordered mine, I had mixed advice as to wether the pedal part number I ordered was the right one - the place I eventually got it from said the same one was used for LS2\L76 etc. It has 8 pins on the connector. The ECU pin out I have for the L76, only shows 6 outputs, plus the pedal connector I ordered in has 6 (in a line) - so do I have the wrong connector or wrong pedal?
The part number I have is 92189345.
Cheers.

My pedal is part number 92188387 and is an 8 pin. ( two rows of 4 pins)
My wiring diagram also shows 8 connections to the E38 connector J1.
Do you want a copy of my wiring diagram?.
Cheers
EDIT...
I can't count...my diagram only 6 connectors.

Thanks Les - mine looks the same, just without the pedal pad. The supplier assured me the one I have is correct....so how about the mysterious extra 2 pins? The wiring diagram I have is probably just like yours - seeing you sent it to me
Cheers.

I'm not going to worry about it as I'm gonna get Sideshow to do my harness.
Maybe he can explain the missing two connections.
C'mon Mr Sideshow, unravel this mystery for us.

The Corvette with the LS7/LS2 only has 6 pins in aline. Pn 15864594. 88988944 connector. The GTO and Corvette have differnt pedals.

I could be very wrong but I wonder if the other two connector don't go to the ECM but rather to some other device/function.
ie. Cruise control, torque converter lock up, the control module in the slush box. etc.
Where is Sideshow when you want him?. Prolly still in bed, isn't he only recently married? .
He'll learn.

im in brissy but have to come home tomorrow
been abit sort from driving up here with only 5 minute break heheh
wife is preggy so i drove all the way
hope she feels better so we can share drive home
but my body is aching from being in one spot all the time
2 pins on the pedal are not used they are one end top and bottom pins
i have the connectors and the terminals and the seals around the wires
all pedals from ls1 fly by wire to l76 are same
ve comm went to diff pedal with diff plug
i might see what resistances are like incase you can use l76 pedal on ve v6
pedal is only around 90 to 100 bucks
depending which model car u get it for will determine what the foot part of it looks like for nice foot part get a monaro part
i buy afew at a time
when i get back i have afew looms to send out
think i have 4 ls1 looms at home now and getting afew l76 ones now
got an l76 into a boat to do this week should be fun
just did an l76 into a 96 jag xls should go good
i hope to buy a new diagnostic scanner in a week or 2 so i can start doin diagnosis on late model cars
as i think i can diagnose electrical problems much better and quicker than
most dealer ships and auto electricians cause of my 10 years mechanic experience and my self taught auto electical
hope my shop can grow bigger next year
anyway have to rest soon for trip home tomorrow at 5am
anyone needing plugs let me know
thanks

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, so you're not in bed.....but admit to being there.
Gawd you young fellas don't muck around....I was married for about ahmmm, about 4 years before the first wife fell preggers.
Mind you, I did lead a very sheltered childhood, you know, typical shy type.
Thanks for the advice sideshow, I'll be sending you a loom soon.

Now that we know about the missing contacts what about the pedal itself....the metal arm.
I'm gonna bolt the thing to the inside of my firewall on the upper far right.
The metal arm is bent the wrong way as I need it bent to the left to clear the ledge of the RMC inner tub. (ie the ledge the under dash hoop bolts on top.)
Has anyone removed the metal arm and rebent it or made another?.
Any problems in doing this?.

Slow427 had to completely remodel his - mounted on the roof of the footbox with the pedal arm bent at right angles - Ill probably have to do something similar.
Cheers

Pedal,,,
tenrocca,
My pedal looks a bit different...
It had white tape over it, it looks like aluminium with black rubber dots on it. I dont have the part number as its fitted...... its the fly by wire type.
I will look throough my pics to see if I have one.
