Great run. Looked pretty casual about it too...

Nice run Phil.....
The car is quick and seems to have pretty good manners. I'll be happy in the 12 seconds somewhere.
Video is great, nice and clear and very little distortion. Anything special about the camera??

Well done Phil. Not very many QLDers have ever gone that fast in a Cobra.
Hogster, 12 sec pass in a Cobra is certainly more than respectable. We certainly never managed that in the first Cobra.

Camera
The camera is a "Chase Cam"
They are fantastic Pneal let me borrow his and then Karen bought me one for my Birthday.
The Youtube is greatly reduced in quality, the actual footage is much better you can watch it full screen on the TV and t feels like you are in the car.
I think it coped with the low light well.

Very good, and your 60ft time is great for a Cobra. This is an interesting goal to perform like you.

HI Paul,
That is the electric water pump light, lets me know it is working.
Bourret,
Ther tyres are Mickey thompson ET street radials.
Time, definitely not the quickest, Greg hood and Geoff pinch and the WA guy hold these honourws for a NA car.

All of the DRB GT40's seem to hit the low 12's very easily...even fairly modest 5lt examples. Don't know how many of gone into the 11's though.
I've been meaning to find out what the fastest GT40 time is. I expect Peter Ransom might have that title as he frequents the drags and has some serious HP.
None of the GT40's I know of up here have run Mickey's.
Don't know of any NA Cobra's in QLD that have gone faster than you Phil.

"Missile Mizzi" is 100% RIGHT.
Hi Phil,
Well done, good to see it all coming together after all the effort.
Hope to get there myself one day soon.
All the best for your Birthday too!!!!

Nice run and car,
The run looked a little short shifty except in 3rd. Not having a go. Just commenting. Get another 1000-1500 rpm out of 1st and 2nd and you might shave 1/3 to 1/2 second off that time.
Great sound too!!

Short shifting
That was something new was to short shift first and second.
You are dead right the 300 times I have watched it I now know that I need to stretch out 1st and 2nd a little more.
I also have the rev limiter set at 7000rpm, I am booked in for another dyno session next week as the tune is rich up high, we will spin it to 7500 now and get the tune better. that with the better shifting will see a better time.
Drag racing isawsome it is a perfect test of man and machine, stuff the slightest thing and the run is stuffed.
Phil

Getting Ready
Having another run tomorrow.
It was about time that we really streched its legs and see what its got.
We reset the rev lim to 7500, this is the most we will get from the engine untill we run the NOS.
