How does the government get the bucks out of LPG ?
Several years ago they forced a drop in the octane ratings so you have to burn more.
I heard this from several different engine builders that couldn't get the original power out of an engine they had built only months earlier.

I'll let everyone know how it all pulls up when it is running. I am building the car to be driven, lap sprints and drags, so I'll have some definite results (dyno sheets) later.

Engine and transmission is in the chassis now. Will post some more photos soon.

Don't know yet, running twin impco 425's with the biggest gas mixer I can get. The local gas guy says it will be fine.
I will take it to then in the next couple of weeks for some tank advice and lines etc.

I've got a 5/16" line to an OHG X1 evaporator connected by a 1" dia. x 1" long fitting to an OHG XG450 mixer sitting on a 850 square bore holley base sitting on a single plane manifold. I don't know how it performs yet. Un-tuned and stock motor felt pretty strong and fuel economy was ok ( you don't take much notice when you are driving an unregistered baby around for rego tests )...on a stock 351 cleveland.
I understand ...the closer you can get the evaporator to the mixer the better the tune. Less distance for the gas to condense again. What is your set-up ?

Mine will run a single feed from the tank to an Impco E model evaporator, then out, splitting into two lines feeding the Impco 425's. They are both sitting on Holley 650 base plates, Edelbrock dual quad manifold (dual plane).

Had some issues with adapter plates to turn the Impco's sideways for the gas feed, and the base plates to fit Edelbrock, but looks nice now. The gas guy says there shouldn't be an issue with fuel supply, but if it starts to starve, I'll run a second evaporator.

I should be able to mount the evaporator within about 500mm of the mixers. I've just got to find some lpg graded, braided line to make up some fancy arsed fuel lines.

As for fuel economy, care factor, "ZERO"

The only main problem I have with LPG is that it is fine when you are in the cities but once you get out in the country areas it gets a little hard to find,
At least thats what I have found in NSW.
