Ok, then I'll settle for a brunette.
Between the age of consent and collapse thanks.

Thanks for the compliment! I am not sure how clever as I struggle with the radiator fitting? Seems the L76 is not so popular! Which is now the best place to buy a complete new engine with accessories (less power steer and air) and 6 speed 'box. The prices seem to fluctuate a lot?

Whatever QT, VicRoads etc tell you..............make sure you get it in writting. I have heard they can deny everything if its just word of mouth. Once you have it in writting you have a legal document that will stand up in court. Even if they gave you the wrong info.

The engineers have it in writing from QT, it's official.
37/01 is the QLD emissions standard at the moment. We will get enough forewarning if it's likely to change in the future.
I actually feel sorry for the existing builders like Les, the indecision has cost Les time and money. But he has probably gained a few extra ponies and a much better mannered street cobra.

Merv, two of the main eBay sellers are actually Bay City Holden (in Frankston, Vic) and WASP (Ballarat Holden). They both sell to other smaller dealers and even some wreckers (like Holdent) who sell them onto the public. I got my best price from WASP - just ring Ballarat Holden and ask for Stuart in parts and tell him you're one of the Cobra brigade. He'll do a substantial discount if you're buying all the accessories (minus power steering and air is ok).
PM me if you want more info.

Mate, I feel the same way (vroom vroom). But without a radiator, fuel lines, springs/shocks and electricals I think I might be jumping the gun... just a tad.

Merv, I agree with Paul, Stuart was where a number of us got our alloy lumps. Good service and price.
However, regarding all the accessories. Some of the stuff Stuart includes is not required in most circumstances. The battery cable is one which comes to mind as is the plastic mount for the ECU.
Cheers

end of the day the l76 engines are much easier to get power out of
look at the ford engines hardly anyone can tune them properly due to the software needed
the l76 will be infront of emissions for many years and there is a growing amount of tuners for the chev engines
i just finished wiring up in a jag had to wire up the pim and the bcm and got the jaguar cruise control and air con and central locking to all work thru the hodlen computers
they are so user friendly these chevy engines
last time i wired up a very late model ford engine was the aussie eleanor mustang with a 4.6 quadcam v8 and that was over 2 years ago
u just cant go past the price of the l76s these days
my future car is a 61 corvette with an ls7
i guess if i start saving i mgiht have one in 30 years hehehe
