Default LS1 Intake Manifold

The stock intake manifold for the EFI LS1 has a front mounted air filter. I'm after a more traditional looking set-up (top mounted)

Can anyone say if there is a significant performance change between stock and something like the Edelbrock Super Victor -- Or, Kinsler Velocity Stacks for EFI?

On the subject of Velocity Stacks. I've never closely inspected how they're installed -- but, they don't appear to have any air filtration. Isn't that a problem for road driving?

I've got the Edelbrock Victor Jr EFI on mine and it runs nice. I haven't had it dynoed yet so the jury is out on whether it makes more power than the stock setup. I think a careful combination of component choices and tuning could see it making good power. At the moment it makes more power than I know what to do with.

The other one to possibly consider is the Harrop Hurricane 8TB setup. It looks to be a nice piece of kit. However from what I've read the LS1 individual throttle body setups don't really come into their own till you stick them on a fairly big cube motor i.e 402 cubes.

The Edelbrock setup turned out to be a reasonably priced combination for the look you end up with.

Cheers

Not as much as I should.

I'm in India at the moment so I'm 5.5 Hours behind. Just finishing off some stuff for work before I head off to bed.

Cheers

Try the same question on the LS1 Forum site. There is alot of info lurking around about pros and cons of different changes.
