Default Bosch pumps....tales and sales!!

Thought I'd finish off that series of other disasters I had trying to get a reliable car on the road through Christmas last.

You might recall I was having all sorts of reliabilty woes fuel supply wise just at the end of my engineering / registration process.

The blame was squarely on the Bosch external 044 pump until the real culprit, the primary fuel filter put its hand up. Seems it was blocking to easily and wasn't the right filter for the job. This I put down to bad advice when I was sourcing this gear.

Anyway, by this time I'd gone an in-tank pump with an AU filter and wasn't looking back but I was writing off the 044 as a lost cause. I'd made a warranty claim by this time on Bosch through the supplier but was coming to realise my chances of money back was lost on a dudded pump.

Eventually however....surprise surprise, the Bosch testing did find some small amount of crap interferring with the pump's operation and once cleared it was pumping on song again. Claim papers came back with claim denied but with a pump spec. recorded well within the pump's capability, so now I have a good 044 but no use for it.

Bl$$dy expensive and roundabout way to get to what I wanted to do in the first place I'm thinking. But I am very happy with what I ended up with so it's not all that bad.

Now I just have to learn to better avoid cars and poles, get the car properly fixed and painted and I'll be a happy chappy again!

Anyway the sale part is best offer and you can be a proud Bosch 044 owner. Any offers. It did cost me $275.

Oh oh and I'll be up at Winton on Saturday if anyone is really keen to do a deal that quick.

Let me know.

Cheers

Steve
