Thumbs up ShelbyFest 2008

Ahhhh its been and gone

Thanks for a great weekend to the Organisers and participants of the 2008 ShelbyFest, what a great bunch of people, As usual we had a ball and hopefully Budgie didn't annoy anybody too much (what a character).

Book us in for next year

Here we go with some footage

Tony and Jason,
Again another great event, great people and good times had by all, and another great sideways driving display by acecob at the motorkana. Budgie was alot quieter this year I thought.
Cheers
Brett

Yes I have to congratulate all the organisers too for a good outing even as a by-stander. I'd have preferred to be driving but there's always next year!!

And thanks to you guys and gals on the track for behaving under the flags, this makes it safer for all involved and easier on us voluntary marshals.

Though I would suggest the club looks at getting some proper flags made up, cause the caution "fluoro vest" did get waved and seemed to get the intended message across but we'd look a bit more professional with the right shade of yellow flag.

I'd also suggest purchase of some basic form of communication devices to minimise delays and to also get quick feedback on problems and concerns. Again I'm thinking particularly of safety issues for those on the track but I'm sure this would help in other areas too.

I also loved the fact that there was a lot of track time opportunity. I know when I first manage a stint I'll need as much time as I can get to knock the bugs out of the car and my driving capabilities.

Looking forward to Winton in 09!

Cheers

Even without having my car there I still had a good time.

Great to catch up with everone. I think that's something I missed out on a last year when I had my car going. I was so busy running round working on the car or driving that I didn't get much time to chat.

This year I spent most of the week end behind the camera. I got some great video which I'm going to try to edit down and put on a disc.

I also bought a new digi camera on my last OS trip. It has a burst function like a motor drive on a film camera. You keep the button held down and it keps snapping pics. I took a bunch of these sequences from the marshals position at the esses.

Check em out:

Cheers

But I can't hear Jason's tyres squealing, you needed to buy the next model up to get sound too Mike!

Tony & Jason

thanks for hosting such a great and relaxed weekend.

Great to again catch everyone this year and sadly many were unable to come due to vehicles not ready or unfinished.

Hopefully you wont miss out next year. Looking forward to the Nationals again.

Leeroy.

Got plenty of tyre squealing action on the Video camera. Just need to convert AVCHD footage into MPegs so everyone can enjoy it.

Cheers

Yes I'm the same with the outlaws video camera I borrowed. Googled Canon support and if i use an IIE34?? or something connection I can download to computer. guess I'd also need to download software but that's the least of my issues.

Trouble is the video camera has a snappy lead I think is this beast to plug into but no corresponding same in the computer.

Has anyone exprience with this lead format?

The Canon site definitely says that model video can't USB connect so am stuffed there.

Can any techo experts help cause I've got good footage of one spinner and some overhead footage from the marshal gantry that will probably have good noise to it too!

Would make good U-tube material!

Cheers

Default nice pics

Nice pics Mike !

Great to catch up on the weekend, like you last year I was running around in a frenzy looking to replaced broken bolts etc, gets a bit hectic, all part of the fun I suppose.
I noticed the camera set up at the saleyards on Sunday, you must have some great footage and when its ready I would love a copy if it's ok, should be fun to watch everyone was hard at it having a ball.
I going to post some pics later just sorting them out

Sounds like you have firewire on that camera Slowy! My Canon has it too so any time you feel like a drive to East Malvern, let me know and we'll knock back a beer while it downloads. I have the necessary software/cable.

We had a great time at Shelbyfest.

Thanks heaps Tony and Jason, you have created and run a very relaxing and enjoyable week end.

I have some incar stuff, the quality is a little poor to upload it to Youtube.

The link is of one of my better laps.
