AP Brakes
AP Calipers are my choice, just purchased the road versions with dust seal, part numbers 5570, 6pot radial caliper for my front 330mm rotors and 5200 4 pot caliper for the rear 304mm rotors, the rear calipers would be excellent on the front of most cars with a 132mm x 57mm pad differential pistons, they are physically the same size as the 5570, but they have a 150mm x 53mm pad.
The 5200 cost me NZ$810 all up, which is only a hundred dollars or so more than a Wilwood, the fronts were NZ$1200, and the guy recommended Pagid Blue 4-2 pads for the rear, these are hi perf road and rally, and I am trying the new RS5 Blue on the front, from what I can gather Pagid are the top choice pad in motorsport, they also make compounds like I have mentioned that suit both road and medium/heavy track use, as changing backwards and forwards can cause bedding in issues!

I am running Compomotive 17" knock off wheels, rears are 12" wide, front are 10" wide, certainly doesnt look like it needs more tyre!

Front calipers
Guys i appreciate all the nice photo's of calipers and rotors.
Wilwoods are out of the question because of cracking issues and flexing.
Ap's sound good but so far after emailing them they cant help.
Hi spec havent got back to me either , so not too sure if they can help.
And I have a mate with some nisson stoppers and told me to get after market ones.
I had a track day yesterday (monday at Oran) and after 4 laps they brakes didnt like working too well.
So at this point im desperate for some stopping power.
As much as I want to keep my 15 " wheels it looks like I may have to go up a size in wheels to get some brakes .
But if someone out there has 15 " wheels with some AP's or Hi Specs can you help me please.

The Skyline calipers are not perfect as they do not have a very large pad area, also no external balance tubes or any decent strengthing type ribs or material to stiffen them up. But my brother runs them on his Cobra with 300mm rotors and they are more than capable for regular track work. Enough in fact to win multiple Cobra Nationals with. But you have to use the right pads and rotors. Skyline calipers are great value.
With Wilwoods you have to pick the right caliper for the right application. If you are going to do track work, you would be using the larger calipers, SL6, SL4, GNIII. I wouldn't be using Dynalites for the track in a Cobra. Personally I'm a huge fan of Wilwood calipers, very capable and very good design. My GNIII's have external balance tubes, significant strengthing ribs and a nice pad area. Wilwoods are used by some very big players, they are very capable for track use if sized right.
AP racing, Cameron uses AP calipers front & rear on his Superformance. I think his rotors must be around the 280mm size, similiar to your Jag ones. He runs 15" wheels. Maybe he can chime in, if he remembers which model calipers he is using.
With any of these calipers you will need to find someone to make the adaptor brackets for you and confirm the calipers will fit. Or find an aftermarket kit that will fit, but run the risk of complications in your particular Cobra setup.
With your current setup, you could just swap to better pads for track, maybe better fluid, maybe better rotors and see some significant gains for track use. It might mean, swapping in pads just for track use. Have you got some professional advice in this area for your existing setup?

Just a thought here, has anyone looked at using the aluminium 4 piston calipers as fitted to Toyota landcruisers?
I know these are almost a bolt on fit to the Valiant Charger.
The charger has 14 inch wheels so I think they should fit in your rims Paul.

skyline front calipers are good
u have ti find the right ones thou
as u go late to later model skylines they get slightly bigger
i run r33 gtst calipers and discs on my hilux they work good
send 150 bucks on braided brake lines and it helps a tiny bit more
just dont buy cheap pads
u can get street/race pads from certsin places for 300 bucks which work well
i buy metal kings or similar because where i work we sell jap import parts and i just replace the discs as they wear
but they re good value for money
otherwise spend over 2g and get a very good setup
