Default Shop recommendation in Sydney needed

Hello,

I am trying to find a shop in Sydney that would be capable of assembling a set of rear suspension uprights for an original Cobra. I assume any shop that deals in English sport cars (Jaguar resto shop maybe?) or old style race cars could do it. I just want somebody who is competent and reputable. It's not too tough, but I would rather find a guy to do it who doesn't need much of an explanation to figure it out.

Thanks

Kris

Hello Kris,

Have you got a real one hidden in Sydney?

Jeff at GT Motorsports specialises in Cobras, and I believe has worked on some originals over the years. Might be worth a try.

I will see if I can find a nomber for you.

Regards,

Ben

Hi Kris,

My car is being built by Neil Streeting. He's doing all the intricate jobs and I'm doing the easy bolt-on stuff.

He was recommended to me by many of the New South Wales Cobra Club members. I then did my own investigation and finally decided that he was "THE MAN". He is a Cobra owner too, which makes a big difference.

I'm really happy with his professionalism and mechanical knowledge. He's easy to talk to and is not a rip off merchant. He takes real pride in his work which can be supported by the number of Cobra's you find in his workshop for service or repair. He's a whiz on suspension modifications and has incorporated many unique ideas into my build.

He has his own factory and his details are listed below;

Neil Streeting Automotive Repairs.
54 Halstead Street, South Hurstville, 2221, New South Wales.
Phone Sydney No. (02) 9580-6748 or 9580-6201.
Fax (02) 9580-0856.
Email streeto@tpg.com.au

Send him an email. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Take Care, Baz.

I'll vouch for the above as well --- the best in the business
However logistics between the US and Aus is a total PITA --a hit and miss method, ref. to murphy's law -- especially when you're really counting on it (delivery) --USPS needs a parcel bomb that actually goes off IMO
Rant, rant etc otherwise Good luck

Regards Scott.

Kris,

Good to see you are still at it.

The Cobra is finally gone. Mmm a red GT40 took it's place..

No original Cobras that I know of, just authentic replicas!

Thanks for the info, I'll contact the shops listed. It's so nice to have Club Cobra as a resource. Where else would I find reliable information about shops on the other side of the globe?

Scott, I'll shoot you an email.

Bernie, GT40, eh? Nice!
