Me thinks ya better check whether it's 11,12 or 13 before ya ask.
Unless ya get this question right then maybe you wont be going anywhere for a while.

Don't ask me how I know.

Will have to take it easy on the Nepean Highway - the Saturday morning curb-side Latte-set don't like too much disturbance.

short story:
Recently I was following my cobra along the highway down near Rosebud, the traffic stopped and a cluster of the afore-mentioned breakfasters appeared to simultanously turn and look in the direction of my car.

I dont think that they could see it because there were parked cars between the traffic and the leasurati - and one of the seated (and scowling) appeared to be mouthing 'truck off' - in the mistaken belief that there was truck near by.

My brother - who coincidentally is half-deaf and built the exhaust system - is typically very accomodating but must not have heard them because he didn't look over in thier direction. Unfortunately, at this time the car was running a little rough (probably still cold) and had to be 'blipped' a bit to stop from stalling.

This helped a lot - the hither too pale protestor seemed to gain a lot of colour in his face, I think that the chap was also happy at his changed condition and began to express that.

While I'm not sure that my brother was aware of any of this he was obviouly enjoying the drive because I believe I could see a broad grin in the rear-view mirror.

LB.

With my running around Saturday I'll meet you lot down at the factory.

It's for 11am is it not in Dalkeith Ave, Dromana, is that right?

Cheers

Steve

T.L. I'm sure you'll be made most welcome. I've dropped into two club meetings since getting my rolling chassis and will be officially joining up on Saturday. It will be a great way for you to check out another kit manufacturer and meet some of the local owners.

Cheers,
Paul

Looks like a great morning for a Cobra outing, let's hope the weather holds out.

See you all in a couple of hours.

Thumbs up Ultimate Shed Run

The Daytona/Robnell Factory Tour was great fun and very interesting.

Fortunately there was plenty o parking at the factory and as usual it turned into a bit of show and tell.

Inside the factory Mr.Motec - Richard - spoke about his project, the engineering, approach and some of the remarkable achievements they have made with the car.

It was a very interesting talk - except for Phil who kept eyeing off the blue one and contemplating a drive home..

Richard was also prepared to talk about the very sad incident involving Peter Brock

Including the circumstances leading up to the event, the aftermath and what they learned. I felt this was a open and honest account of what was clearly a very sad event involving a personal friend.

Later the new(er) Targa car was put up on a hoist and we crawled all over/under it - several members inside it - while Richard continued to give us a commentary on the engineering and construction considerations.

As if that wasn't enough of a treat Richard then showed us through the factory next door (which looks like its his toy shed)

Lotus anyone ?

By this time Richard had turned us into a drooling mass

The factory tour was a great day out and our host was great guy who is - like us - a car guy and very generous with his time.

Had a nice drive home too.

LoBelly - great summary and pics. I too enjoyed Richard's honesty on Brocky's accident and his passion for cars in general. What a dream life he is living and still remaining so generous with his time. Thanks to the club for organising this event.

Paul

PS. And thanks to the lads for opening up those throttles on the highway - new inspiration for the build!

Very well summed up LoBelly.

Over 60 people in attendance. I think that just pips the Lindsey Fox run from a few years back for our biggest shed run turn out for the club.
Good to see a few new members there and also a few interstaters.

My pick for highlight of the day:
Stiffy, Billy Bigblock and the Reptyl coming across a young fellow in a Nissan GTR halfway up the Arthur’s Seat Hill climb road.
He pulled into the slow vehicle turn-out to let us past.
Stiffy flew around with flames shooting from his exhaust,
Billy gave him a wave while taking the hairpin sideway,
All I could do was smile as I glanced across to see the young riceburner with his mouth wide open and his eyes as big as golf balls.

Great lunch at the Pig and Whistle to round out the day.
