(Mushy - the truth of the matter is if you want to register your car in NSW - the best option by far is a LS series motor, but these old guys just dont get it. Something about blind loyalty, not seeing the woods for the trees etc etc.)

We all enjoy winding each other up over engine choices. We laugh at their boat anchors and they sneer at our recycled beer cans.

Wouldn't have it any other way

Cheers

Cool

46 years ago the Chev people told Carroll Shelby, "No thank you" to putting a Chev engine into his car. I am glad they did, for with the Chev engine in Shelby's
little car, it would never have reach the heights of acclaim the 'COBRA' did with a FORD, hence the rich racing history.
(Cobra 1st, Ferrari 2nd and Chev didn't even get a mention)

After all, there is nothing of interest from the Chev range to fit a Ford engine into.

So the bickering will go on.

Very Funny Mike.

Hello Mushy,
I am in the Penrith area and have a Ford in mine.

Also it runs and drives, I keep hearing about all these chevys but not often do you see them run.

Actually I think it's easier to change the plugs on a Boss than an LS1. DOHC means the plugs are right there on the top of the heads between the cams.

In my opinion the Modular motor could have been a truly great piece if Ford hadn't had front wheel drive applications as part of the design brief. This necesitated a motor that was short lengthwise to fit across the chassis. This is why it was designed with such tight bore spacings and can't be built into a decent size under square engine. The heads have huge potential but the block design lets them down for naturally aspirated combinations. I think everyone including Ford have realised forced induction is the only way to make big power with the modular motor.

Cheers

Hey thats your opinion, Blind loyalty has nothing to do with it, a lot of people would say that its not the best option, its by far the cheaper option,
All I say is each to their own, you go with what you like, but if I was to build a corvette I sure wouldn't put a ford engine in it because I like ford,
like the guys say where only having a dig and a bit of a laugh but you always have to bite rocca,
tzzzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz another good catch for the week

Hey Mike that actually works I lost 13 kilo's after a diet for a month , dropped .5 sec in the 1/4 mile

Pete - you take my comments far to seriously I think.

Ill let you in on a secret - Ive never owned a ford, Ive never owned a holden. (Supported both Moffat and Brock at times when I was a little fella.) Have no loyalty to either make. Cant fit a boss in a CR, and Iemma or Scully or whoever makes the decisions wont let me use anything else - so the decision is a no brainer. If the LS engines were made by Ford, thats what I would use - If the boss was made by holden, I still wouldnt use it cos it wont fit. I would happily put a ford in mine if they made a viable option for me.

Its all pretty simple really, and If anyone want to be critical of using a chev in a cobra - then talk to the NSW government. Hard to be critical of those just abiding by the rules.

At that trap speed I certainly hope your chutes were working well... should be good for mid to high 6's when you can get it to hook up!!!

See Tenrocca, we can't compete with these Fords
