Thinking about doing the same thing, run it as a business claim all the GST and running cost ect back and run it at a loss??

Quite the contrary, do what the wealthy do...hire it to yourself and a few friends who like to ride with you. much much better to have some income .

Claim running costs, insurance , services, and depreciation. Wind the company up after 3 years of heavy losses and offer the receiver $20 more than asset register value for the Cobra.
