I agree with the above sentiments, however I feel it's just another symptom of how our big cities are growing too fast. Our services (eg, Police) and infrastructure struggle to keep up and the policy makers introduce increasingly draconian measures such as "zero tolerance", whereas in years gone by it was more about common sense and a fair go. What happened to Aussie culture?

Unfortunately I don't see things changing for the better, so I'm just going to build myself this beast of a car and enjoy it (safely!) every chance I get.

I find it hard to believe that this kind of laws are brought up and passed without the people knowing about it. How can any intity such as the police have these laws instituted without popular vote. Representitives of your state should be required to vote the popular sentiment.
Me thinks the hobbiests like bikers, rodders street machiners, and kit car guys better start organizing. If you
don't then you will have to be content on driving a Cobra on X-Box.
Hope it gets worked out. Life is tough enough without the government telling people what to do instead of the people telling Government what to do.

Hersh,

I think we need an organisation like SEMA.

Unfortunately no one is prepared to put the money up or organise it..

Bernie: I hope you aren't losing too much sleep since your original post. It's been over a week an nobody has been able to answer your original question. Jeez...there can't be that many bronze Cobras with white stripes running around Australia! The suspense is killing me.....who is it?
As time passes you have to wonder what the final disposition of the impounded Cobra will be....I'd be a very nervous owner!

...I may seem persistent, but yes more curious it's killing me.

I think I know every Cobra is the country and I'm really struggling to name, or say I've seen the bronze with white stripes.

Particularly, as I was told it was a Geelong Cobra - I'm really curious.

I'm asking Police friends now where they store the cars - think I'll go and have a look..

Both of those Tiger Mica cars are from NSW, so must be others.

Gee Bernie; now Cobrabill says the police in WA have snagged an Aston Martin! This anti hooning thing appears to be taking on a life of its own. Would you like us to send over a SWAT team from the ACLU to help?

Yep, here is a link.

Socialite nabbed under hoon laws at 169 km/h - National - theage.com.au

What chance have we got when we can't even "lift the hem line". . Mind you, she is 52 so I guess lifting the hem line might be considered an offense by some young copper.

Hey Bernie, if you have a look at the bikini's and cobras thread, there is a bronze cobra in there. i think it is one of the NSW cars though. Try not to get too distracted on that thread. I think it took my about an hour and a half to read that thread.

"No darling, of course i wasnt looking at the girls, just the cars!!"

Andy.

Steve Ringstad (NSW) owned the first one in that colour. he was a bit peeved when another cobra had that same shade. He doesn't mind a "spirited" drive.
There's no forum on the nsw club website. ( I'm a computer dummy I mightn't have seen it)

It now looks like that not only does my Cobra have to stay in the shed due to police concerns but now the Aston has to stay in there to.

I have known Steve for years and he has never mentioned being "peeved" actually our cars are a different colour as they changed tiga mica half way through its production life.

Cheers

I had you two guys off the list early...

I was told it was someone from Geelong that had their car taken.
