Garage Decorations
My folks just sent me a ripper of a late 40th pressie.
Every Cobra-Lunatic should have one of these on the garage wall (or on the ceiling above the bed)
[IMG] [/IMG]
Made by Mildura Plasma Cut Design and measures 100cm x 60cm.
I like it. I like it a lot.
Back to the build
Regards
Hogster
PS - To all of the sticklers for detail - yes!! I have since straightened it up on the wall.

Luck, lucky b@st#rd!!
A celebratory plaque and actual in build at 40.
I recall with fondness my wife's surprise 40th present on behalf of the assembled gaggle of friends.
A gift certificate for the hire of Melbourne's one and only rentable cobra back then, plus enough left over lolly to pay for the overnight accomodation at Warrnambool after the planned Saturday GOR drive.
One of the best (surprise) presents I've ever received.
And of course the ultimate result, which was the wife saying WHEN we get a cobra and not IF!!
Cheers and enjoy

Hi Hogster
Andrew, managed to get one of those plasma cut beauties at a recent Motor show at Cooma along with a trophy for Best Sports Roadster for the Cobra. A good day out I thought. You must be getting close to firing up the beast.
Cheers
Brett

Getting Close
Hi Brett, sounds like a great weekend.
Bit of a change of direction at the moment. I am waiting for approval to go to fuel injection instead of the LPG.
I had a number of issues but mainly the height of the gas system, running dual quads, can't get them under a bonnet scoop and still look the way I wanted it to. So, if I have to rethink, I am going to try and go to petrol and then run a throttle body (Weber look) injection system. Height of manifold....height of adapter plates to fit Holley bases, height of adapter to turn impcos so you can run gas feed lines.....by the time it was finished I would have to ramp the bonnet from front to back to make the scoop height legal. Dont really want to do that.
I can sell the gas stuff back. Advantaged to me, better looking induction, easier access to fuel supplies, I get my boot back, I will have a much more tunable system, better mileage per litre.
Disadvantage, Cats, expense of fuel, only run premium because of compression built for the gas engine (11:1).....
Cheers
Andrew

Hi Hogster
Howd you go with the emissions side of it? Do you have to prove the new set up complys with ADR 37/01? There is a company in Melbourne that makes a EFI gas system that works with any EFI manifold.

Alfie
I'm going to wait and see what the recommendations are from the TAC. They meet next next week. Then I'll consider the available options and decide what I will do.

Thats the business Hogster.
Can you pick them up off the net???
I've just retired mine from car shows as I've got enough for when I sell it now , plus I got tired of spending heaps on tarting it up all for a $15 trophy. Will only display in future
All my memorabilia is now on the garage wall covering up the overspray marks!

Neat site. George certainly has a mix of cars there. Mmm no GT40 though.
