Ironman tragedy.
Went to the movies on Monday, and almost cried when I saw Ironman crush a gorgeous aluminium bodied Cobra.
OUCH !!!! http://jalopnik.com/assets/resources...onMancobra.jpghttp://jalopnik.com/assets/resources...onMancobra.jpg |
I'm glad it was aluminum. I hate when they smash a fiberglass Cobra in a movie and you see 'glass shards everywhere. Sorta ruins the movie experience for me, ya know?
|
That'll buff right out. :p
Cheers |
Wazza, I saw the movie last night. Luckily I'd seen the Cobra scene in the previews or I would've been traumatized to see it on the big screen. Sad ending for a Kirkham! Great movie though.
|
I bet Sandwich could pound that out. :)
|
Just fill it in with Bondo putty noone would even notice... :p
|
Hell I was worried when he gravitated over all the cars with the jet propulsion flames raining down.
Then to crush it - ouch. Mmmm anyway his little redhead assistant will help him repair it..:3DSMILE: I really like the technology he had for checking the compression loss on that little V8 side valve in the hot flamed '32 roadster. Mmmm a perfect garage for Stiffy he had better go off and watch the movie.. |
Why Why
why Do they always trash the cobra .
I would have been quite happy to see a ferrari or lambo get crushed but not a cobra but really would like to see them crush a holden or 2'000'000. Just so we can get the engines and put them in cobras. oh what warped sense of humor i have. Enjoyed the movie . but not the damaged cobra. and the fact that it was alloy made it worse. most punters would never know or care if it was glass or alloy . my say tonite. oz. |
|
So do you think it's worth more with movie history as is, or is it worth more repaired?
Great movie! |
I'm betting the producer/director bought the car to use in the movie. The production company insured it and paid for the repair, and the producer/director bought the car from the production company at the end of production for a dollar.... Cheap and somewhat legal way to get into a Kirkham .....
Or, of course, they may be holding onto it for the inevitable sequel? Just my 2 cent's worth... Bob |
It is just a scratch.....need a bottle of touch up paint !!

Notice that Audi, which I heard was rumored to have paid some big sponsorship bucks, did not get a scratch.
|
The various car companies such as Audi pay a lot to have product placement in movies - just think James Bond post the Volvo P1800.
Kirkham need to come clean and tell us how many million they paid.. Think it was Bad Boys 1 where they crashed the blue/white Cobra into the airport deflect wall..:confused; |
You're right Bernie. Skip to 1:30 in this clip! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOwBJUl4F_Y
