This guy has a living room, kitchenette and office all in his garage, where he can stare at his fleet of sports and off-road cars.

Hey Stiff

Its a pitty you didn't mention this earlier 'coz the Daytona Factory visit was just around from my brothers place.

It might be worth your while to do a shed run, check out the layout and actual size of the space and how much more you might want and how you might lay out/use them.

To my knowledge special permission might be required to live in your shed and you may see an arrangement that could be useful.

Lemmie know if you're interested and I can put you in touch.

You can build anything...

Hi Guy's,

Some pic's of the backyard as it stands now.

I want the garage to be made of Besser bricks and then rendered, so it looks like part of the new house and not an eye sore. I know the tin/metal sheds are cheaper but they dont look that good and are hot in the summer (I like cold beer)

When I rebuild the house it will have an open rear area overlooking the garage, I want it to be a feature.

For some reason I had a rural block pictured in my head Stiffy.

Have you checked with council regarding the allowable size of shed, also check how close you can be to the boundary, and confirm the proximity as either wall or gutter.
Do you have plans drawn up for the house yet and any modifications happening to it?

Default Council

BOXHEAD,

I contacted the relevant Council Dept's BEFORE I purchased the house.

They have stated up to 14 Meters long and up to 6 Meters High.
The rest is up to me. They were not to keen on the 4/5 hoists (they thought i was setting up a business) and it was a GIRL so what would she know..

It depends on the neighbours regarding the finer details BUT based on the existing structures and current building regs (they change often) I can do the above.

The garage is more important than the house at the moment.
The house is livable and there is only me and 4 cats......

The house design will depend on the Garage Design. I will knock the old one down and start from fresh.

.........even more reason to get an architect, Stiff. The cats'll love ya for it! Might even attract some fluff, and don't we love that stuff.

Default We like fluff

Richardferguson,

I will definately be using an architect (my only dilemma is which one to use)

I know so many through work, I will have to send out a brief.

I agree......

Now just to work out how many plasmas, fridges and bar stools I will need.........

Stiffy

I recently purchased a knockover and I am close to finishing the house build.

My block is almost same as yours at 18m x 43m. My garage is 8m x 12m and was the first thing I had down on paper before the house design. The only reason I am building a new house is because I wanted a real garage (dont tell Maree that)

I designed it myself and had a draftsman draft it and submit to council etc. You'll save heaps this way. Happy to show you thru it or the design if you like sometime.

Bernie,
I remember seeing that same garage and could not find it.
It was the best I've seen. I'll try and post mine.

These just show half of the entire shop. the other side is the mechanical area with lift and compressor. No photos yet.

Default Looks Great

BT SNAKE,

Now you are talking

I should clarify for those that do not know me, I dont build....

Its not my strenght, so some would call me a cheque writer I am getting better BUT its not worth the pain and suffering on the poor vehicle..

Therefore my Garage is mainly for storage, cleaning, tinkering and a place for men to drink beer and look at nice car related things,,

http://www.shedco.com.au/

Just fill the whole block with a massive shed / kit home all in one.

Funny how the shed / garage dream takes over.

Don't forget the pole to slide down from the mezzanine floor and the turntable to spin the car around for a quick getaway.

The pole could also double up for pole dancing nights when the stray cats come around.

To the Bat cave.......

Don't think stiffy would get many strays .... he admits to being a cheque writer.

The strays I know only accept cash.

Yes, bought a double garage with 3 bedrooms, kitchen and dining room (apparently). Moving first week of December - once it's finished. I think that's also the delivery date for the 6 litre, coincidentally.
