Knock-off Hubs
Check out my (nearly) finished knock-off hub upgrade for the front of my RMC. It's been a long road...
310mm rotor, PBR caliper fitted to Jag front-end. Compared to just bolting on adaptors, it narrows the track by 31mm. No modifications were required to the Jag front, it's all bolt on.

Thanks guys.
No, unfortunately I didn't do the hubs.
Just got to drill a 1/4" hole for split pin and get surface treatment done and they are good to go.
The rims are stock standard Vintage Wheels US.
I'm absolutely delighted with the outcome, those wheels are going to look great when fitted. The fronts are 245's, the rears are 295's.

WOW. . .I've got Trigo wheels with modified original jag discs/hubs. I'm looking for better (lighter) brake calipers and discs. I have thought ,up to now, that I will have to machine a new hub to suit aftermarket disc hats. What's the deal ? My hubs have six pins 7/16 " dia. and the whole thing bolts to the jag disc. Can you elaborate. please

Craig,
Your car is a cool old school type of car, I think you need to paint those calipers black so they do not stand out!
Sweet wheels.

Beejay, yeah, I'm not too sure about the red calipers on this car either.
Rob, the weight saving is significant for me. I'll grab the scale and weigh the difference. You get a nice weight saving by going with hubs and hat style rotors compared to my original jab hubs and rotors. I also had 4 piston jag calipers which as everyone knows are not the lightest calipers around. And it's all unsprung weight.
Rob, how did you go with offsets? My 15" wheels have 4" backspace and I measured that I needed at least a 25mm reduction in track to fit the wheels right under the guards on my RMC. I think front wheels on Cobras need to sit well under the guards to look right.
I just got custom hubs made up that fit spindles and then found rotors with correct offset and size, these are custom drilled and machined to suit jag stud pattern and my hubs. Then a simple caliper adaptor for the PBR calipers. Then just got braided hoses made up that go from PBR banjo fitting to original jag male 3/8" fitting for the chassis side.
My hubs are actually 5 pin as I originally ordered 5 pin wheels with adaptors. I will still use the adaptors on the rear. They can be easily made as 6 pin. I'll look into logistics and talk to Don about selling it as a kit. The first set of hubs cost a small fortune to get made, the rest can be produced for a fraction of the cost.
It's all a very tight fit, it's as far as I can push the track and I needed to go with the larger rotor just to get clearance for the caliper. It's also one of the largest rotor/caliper combos you can squeeze under 15" rims. It's the best I could do with Jag front end.
Thanks Cameron.
I do have some nice centre caps to go on as well, complete with AC logo to match the rest of the car.

Craig
I didn't think the avids came to 15" at those widths, is my assumption not correct?
I am also contemplating 15" vintage knock offs but thought I only had the 352 Yoki's for choice.
Cheers

Thanks Mike, that's means a lot coming from you.
Stephen, Yokohama made Avid's in those sizes up to about 6 months ago or maybe a little less. It's a shame they dropped them. When I bought them they were a bargain, US$100 for rears, US$65 for fronts. Richard Ferguson also has the same tyres. Sorry mate, wish I had some good news for you on availability.

Rob, just go into your gallery and view the image you want to post in this thread. Underneath the image is a text box with the code you need to insert the image. Just copy all the text from the text box and paste it into your post in this thread. The text starts with [img... You can view different size images and post different sizes here, but the default medium one seems to be the best compromise size wise.
Here are you photos.
I see what you mean, that looks great. Are your jag rotors in the standard location, as in are you just bolting up a standard jag caliper. Or have you moved/changed your arms. I couldn't get the wheels to fit under the guards, with the standard jag hub/rotors and I couldn't move those rotors further enough in to fix the problem.
I've got the 2nd revision body. I should make sure yours is the same and not the early RMC (G-Force shaped) body.

Thanks for posting the photos Craig.
Rob your wheel sits perfect in relation to your body. I dont think you can go past Trigos or Vintage wheels for that perfect look. I wish I could get a similar look on my Classic Revival.
By the way, what are those things under your tyres?
Regards.

I'm a bit late on the reply but I've measured the backspace on the front rims (Trigo 7-1/2 x 15) on an RMC and it's 3-3/4" or 95mm. the wheels sit perfectly inside the guards. Smithy

Mando, I built skates to slide the car sideways when I wanted to work on it.
I saw them in a hotrod mag and wrote a letter top the bloke(no computer then) and asked what size wheels to go over expansion joints in concrete and he said three inches so I folded up some 1/8" or 3mm plate and welded them up. A powder coat and some pretty stainless bolts and there you have it.
Now you can buy quick jacks that don't need the car to be jacked up to fit them. Smithy

Wow I didn't think my pics would come out. I'm not sure what vintage the body is. The supplier swapped a body he had with the one that was delivered, before I picked it up. I only discovered this when I test fitted the windscreen months later. { I will get my revenge ! } YEP the jag rotors are standard with the adapter bolted up to the face of the jag disc/hub.
