Classic Revival Handbrake switch

Do any of the Classic Revival guys have a picture of the switch they added to the MG handbrake set up? I 'd be interested to see if anyone has a simple setup that activates the dash warning light.

I haven't got one yet, I think Sideshow was sourcing one for me.

just usea micro switch with a long leg or lever and glue or bolt it on in right spot

due to brake leverbeing flat with no holes its not easy just fiddly so this way is easy

Hi Rich,

Dick Smith, Jaycar and most washing machines have 2 of them on the motor,
I have set a couple of photo's of the Lokar handbrake, this shows how they set it up.
If you get stuck Rich just send me a PM and I will post you one from a washing machine, I have heaps of them. Click on the thumbnail.

The "simple setup" is to use the MG switch which comes with the latter levers.

Get yourself a momentary push button that is normaly closed (push off). Dick smith has them for $1.20

They fit in the hole that's already there in the hand brake assembly. Connect one lead to the handbrake bracket for earth and run the other lead to your Handbrake warning light.

Works a treat.

Had a great weekend in the garage , ripped out all the wiring and starting from scratch With my wiring skills reckon I'll finish just before the nationals

We've just completed our wiring on our CR - the Comprehensive Build manual was about a useful as a hip pocket in a singlet.
I have yet to do the brake switch either - so thanks for the tips CC crew !

While we're on a wiring thread - anyone know how I should wire up my VDO tacho for the LS-1 ?
Is there a feed from the PCM that will drive it ?
If not - how do I get it working ? (T off the crank angle sensor or final drive from the T-56 ?)

The tacho signal wire is terminal J2 -10 on your ecu.
The wire is brown in color.

I reckon that bit must have been in the wiring manual rather than the build manual. Probably just after the section on making the float switches for the brake M/Cs. I didn't get that manual 'cause I didn't buy the CR wiring loom.
