hey all we are starting to collect parts for building a new cobra
our only prob is talking our friend into funding most of it
but luckily his wife said its ok to have one and since we brought our friend down to the nationals last year he has wanted one so we offered to build him one
we have all the electricals and can get an l98 at very good price and with people we know they can throw in afew parts for free
hopefully get a nice cam and tune which should make 320 to 340 kws at the wheels
since where i work is a japanese importers of performance parts i can grab a good pair of skyline gtr front and rear brakes and a good pair of rims of a gtr too hopefully at right price
i have a vz commodore dash to fit and will hook up all the factory immobilser and central locking and what ever else we can run thru the bcm and pim like cruise control and stuff
if it all goes ahead it will have alotofnew and modern features depending what silly ideas my brain comes up with but should be fun
10 yearsas a mechanic and 4 years as an auto elct should make it easy to build
Sounds like the perfect project Jim - building a Cobra with someone else's money!
Any idea which kit you'll go with? The Harrison uses R32/R33 rear end and you probably know Craig (400TT) has fitted Skyline front brakes to one of his cars in the past. He'll probably chime in here soon.
Yeah, we fitted Skyline R32 GTR front alloy uprights/hubs & brakes to Harrison cobra. We ordered the chassis to also accept the Skyline rear and used matching R32 GTR rear.
You could fit the brakes quite easily to most kits. I'm guessing you would probably have picked up R33 GTS-T brakes as they are the most common around now. They are virtually the same as R32 GTR brakes, if not better.
