Default Stripes

Hey there everyone, I have been working hard on my car to have it looking more presentable by the time I arrive at the Nationals.

Can anyone tell me in regards to teh stripes, some cars have a second skinny pinstripe beside the 2 main stripes.
How far from the main stripes are these and how wide is this second stripe?
Or is there no set dimensions?

If no set dimensions can I see some pics of your stripes so I get an idea of how they look, and if you could include the above measurements that would be great.

No rules on the thin side stripes, just whatever you and the painter think look good!

Thanks Glyn, I thought that might have been the case.

The line marking tape I used Dave is 6mm wide. It is plastic and stretches around curves ect. Any auto paint supply joint will have it.
When I marked mine I thought that the second line would look good with that 6mm gap.
Make sure you use the right tape though as the paint will bleed under normal masking tape.

Or you could choose to run no pinstripe......

Original race cobras had plain stripes.... no pinstripe...

But yeah i think the trend amongst pinstripers is 6mm gap with a 6mm pinstripe. 400TT will have all the info on stripes.

Default Thin stripes

David,
I have the thin stripes to the outer edges of the main stripes. They are 6mm wide and 6mm gaped from the main stripes.

Well it looks like I got lucky.

I have no internet at home (puter crashed) so I did not see any of these messages after 5.00pm Friday.

When I was at Supercheap on Saturday morning grabbing masking tape and some gp thinners to clean my gun, I spotted a roll of 6mm tape and grabbed it.
After marking out for my stripes at a guess, it did not look right with my colors so I pulled it all off and looked at the roll of 6mm, I layed a strip of this down beside the main stripe and thought it looked right, also though the same size stripe was about right so masked up a 6mm stripe, painted it and was pleased.
