Origins of Boxing Day
A Christmas box is, in English tradition, a clay box used in artisan shops. Apprentices, masters, visitors, customers, and others would put donations of money into the box, like a piggy bank, and then, after Christmas, the box would be shattered and all the contents shared among the workers of the shop. Thus, masters and customers could donate bonuses to the workers anonymously, and the employees could average their wages. The habit of breaking the Christmas box lent its name to Boxing Day. The term "Christmas box" now refers generally to a gift or pay bonus given to workers.[5] The Oxford English Dictionary attributes it to the Christmas box; the verb box meaning: "To give a Christmas-box (colloq.); hence the term boxing-day."
Well, so Wikipedia says anyway....
regards
Mick

New Years resolutions
Anyone made their News years resolutions yet?
I have heard one or two here at work talk about that old one - "...this year I'm giving up smoking"

Happy New Year Bernie!
Just getting ready for Barrett-Jackson over here in the next couple of weeks. I will be happy to post any pics of the exciting cars that may be there for you if there is any interest..
I think I may take my Mustang to the New Year's Day run with the Arizona guys, I'll let you know how that goes...
Best to you, Ann, Todd and the rest
Steve

Hello everyone. Happy new year. I've got a new engine and there's a hole in the RH rocker cover. Should I stick a PCV valve in there or not. There's a filter/breather in the L/H side.
What do you reckon ?

Mulv
Steve,
Have a great New year there.
Whoaa it's over with here. Although must say it was quite with some neat fireworks at 12pm.
Regards to Nancy. Enjoy Barret Jackson. It will be good to see some photos and hear how the economy has or has not affected car sales there.
Cheers
Bernie

Check this out, I went for a ride with the AZ Cobra guys on New Year's Day. Pan with your mouse whilst holding the left button, very nifty:

It's AUSTRALIA Day and I had to work. I travelled home at around 7:15pm & I haven't seen the roads so quiet. The same goes for new years day. Wonderful...I really enjoyed a drive without people holding me up or causing frustration. It just makes the day right. A nice cruise without harrasment. Shame the Cobra is still in the Lab.

Rob. Smith
I took the Cobra out early morning to get milk and the papers.
It was a 2 hour run down the coast at 5.oo am and back at 7.oo am. No one around. I did wake the night shift Police at Anglesea one morning.. they were having a nap near a bridge when I flew past... .
Mmmm miss the Cobra on these warm summer mornings..

Hey Bernie,
Do the windows work in that GT40 ? If so, drive with them down that's close to open top I suppose. Early morning (spirited ) runs in any car is good with all the windows down and no radio. Try to explain that to the girl.

What Radio?
Hey Bernie,
I am logging on from home so that is why your not seeing my Tulsacobra.
Do you guys really buy radio's over there? I can't think of a better sound than the sound coming out of a stout V8 with a modest restriction hidden under the skin of a GT 40, Cobra, or Coupe.
I guess you guys are getting into your fall now and maybe a little rain but the cruising still has to be great! By the way you left your T-Shirt here...you know the "Testicle Festival" shirt.
