i just got mine today in the mail

just an idea but maybe some guys on here might want to put their car in the mag
just think it needs afew more car articles and less adds in the mag so people can get some ideas and get some good reading

so maybe do stories on not just newly build cobras but ones already build and running

bazs writeup should have gone for afew more pages and more indepth

just a thought

To complicate matters further there was (is?) in the UK "Which Kit Car" magazine which was in opposition to Kit Car . The latter mag was I believe, also the home to the excellent "Cobra" mag. I have all the issues of that one and it is fantastic for Cobra builders.

Thanks Jim.

It's at the Paint Shop now and going to the trimmers after all the chrome bling is re-installed.

How much luck have you had getting the ECU to talk to the 6L80E transmission?

I'm just back today from N.Z and had a great time. Opened the mail box and there was my Kit Car Mag. Couldn't wait to get into it. What a great read Robert. Keep up the good work and we all hope the Printing Presses keep rolling for a long time. Snaketales was there too, so I have some reading to do. Nice shot of Wazza with his two apprentices.

It's good to be home.

Is the Australian Kit Car magazine out? I am not sure if my subscription is still current as I have not received a notice.

Try emailing them. I thought mine had expired so i emailed them and they responded pretty quick. My subscription started in July 09 and expired last issue. I havent received any notice other than back when i emailed them so they may not let you know. Kind of hard to predict when a magazine is coming.

Merv,

According to their website issue 11, Sept 2010, was the last one. There's an apology for issue 12, perhaps because it's late?

Cheers

Merv
Just to confuse you all even further concerning the UK magazines...

Which Kit Car was sold in 2007 to Performance Publishing Ltd. a company established by Ian Stent and Justin Williams. This was reborn as Complete Kit Car (CKC), with Ian as the editor, and is going strong. I know this because the December 2010 issue featured my 427 build and the January 2011 issue featured my 427 again, as a completed car. The magazine comes out about 15th of each month and CKC's website is: www.completekitcar.co.uk

CKC's website is kept very current and you can subscribe to a pdf downloadable copy of the magazine if you don't want to wait for a paper copy to find it's way to Australia. It also has an on-line preview of each months magazine, but it does not show all the articles ... really just a taster of what is in the full magazine.

Two other UK mags are: Total Kit Car (a bi-monthy magazine) and Kit Car (a monthly magazine). Their websites are:
www.totalkitcar.com and www.kit-cars.com

Kit Car's website isn't kept up to date, which is a pity.

Regards, Mike.

Thanks Liam and Geoff. I have written to them.

Yes, Mike there were of course, the battles between "Which Kit Car" and ""Kit Car" with various editorial claims and counter claims and even court cases, I think. I found Kit Car to be a very good mag and their off shoot "Cobra" to be excellent. I am not sure if "Cobra" still offers but Kit Car does, as you say.

Picked up Kit Car and Complete Kit Car in the UK last October, after not reading KC for many years I saw the same nonsense was being produced, had to double check I hadn't bought a back issue, the only new article was a self indulgent piece by Dennis Tanner about his laser cutter.

CKC on the other hand seemed a nicely assembled mag with some good articles.

Our own Aussie Custom Kit Car mag can stand proud.

Cheers

Yep, I bought it for about 2 years, when I found myself thinking I am sure I have seen that before!!
It is also too glossy for dunny paper.

So far as I can see, CKC doesn't get involved in mud slinging about other Kit magazines. I subscribe to CKC because they concentrate on the kits and their owner/builders.

Is the Australian Kit Car mag mentioned above known as Custom Kit Car with the website www.customkitcarmagazine.com, and is it the only one?

Regards, Mike

I agree with you Mike, CKC UK is a nicely balanced mag. I tossed KC in the bin.

Yep, that's our CKC's website.

Cheers

Seems that the email system at the Australian Custom Kit Car magazine is down or not working. My email can't be delivered.

The Editor, Robert Jacobs called into my home lat month He took some photos of my
car and told me that things were going ok with the magazine. The next issue might be a little late.

Robert is having a few problems with the ecnomy at the moment so we should give him a good go. His mag is great, but he is suffering at the moment. Just bear with it.

I have had similar issues in the past. I have written off my subscription investment, if it turns up it will be a bonus.

Still no answer to this. Did an edition ever come out?

I rang Robert Jacobs last week and he said that the magazine was at the publishers. Just running a bit late.
