Default Threebond

I've got a problem that I was wondering it any of you have some thoughts.... The kit I bought came with a poly tank with a rubber gasket to put in between the metal filler neck and the tank. The guys stateside have lottsa trouble with it so they switched to paper gaskets and use a sealer called SealAll but I can't get it here in Indo. I can get one called ThreeBond which is a Japanese brand produced under license here. I thought I recalled seeing it in Perth the last time I was in Aust. My plan is to mount the filler on top of the poly tank, use a paper gasket and this ThreeBond "semi-drying elastomer, Liquid gasket rubber-based" material. It says on the package, "it excellently resists heat, oil, gasoline and particularly LPG.....designed to form a layer thick enough to work efficiently on uneven joint surfaces"

Whatcha think?

Hi Ken. I was in Jakarta 2 weeks ago and will be again next month. Met a guy who had seen a Cobra around town there (I also read in the Jakarta Post that there are three Enzos!).

Hard to say if that particular sealer would help - others may be more knowledgeable on that - but the hot weather there and especially the humidity may influence the type of gasket?

These guys: https://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(g...onExpired=True

Say that they ship internationally.

Hope to catch up at some time!

Cheers,

Merv

I have never used threebond in a petrol sealing use, but have used it extensively in gearbox case assys, it is OEM spec Toyota stuff on gearboxs, Transfer cases, Diffs etc.
I would wipe some on a piesce of clean metal then sit it in a container of petrol over night, this will let you know if it is going to break down in petrol.
