Harrison exhaust question
Now that my headers are done, I'm looking for a rego friendly exhaust. I've come across a used, cat-back 6.0L VE Commodore system for $200 and the same money again for VE cats that have done 10,000km. This is chump change against a full system and new, euro 4 cats from the factory.
I don't have access to my car and can't get hold of Warwick Harrison, so I'm wondering if a fellow Harrison owner would be kind enough to measure up the cavity under the boot floor either side of the fuel tank - please, before this cheap exhaust goes to another bidder!
The VE mufflers measure 340 x 280 x 170mm. Will these small coffins fit under the floor?
Many thanks in advance!
Sambo

Sambo my mufflers are only 250 x 220 x 100mm there's not a lot of room between the back of the car and the wheel arch.
Hope this helps... Ps could send you pics if you like.
Cheers Greg

Thanks Greg. So which dimension would be the limiting factor, comparing your numbers with mine? Mine is length by width by depth, viewed from above. There's a couple of rough camera phone pics in my gallery.

Greg, just trying to decipher what you mean by "there's not a lot of room between the back of the car and the wheel arch". ie, is my length or width going to be a problem? [cue p3nis jokes].

I think it will be tight they might fit depending on where the exhaust goes into the muffler and out. I sent you a pm Paul

Thanks mate. I've replied to your email. Bummer they won't fit but at least I haven't wasted the money.
I owe you a beer.

Hi Peter. Yarra Valley Exhaust in Lilydale made the headers. 1.75" primaries, 2.25" secondary pipes and 3" collectors with Holden flanges. Holden use the same exhaust flange for 3" and smaller pipes diameters which is handy. They also fitted bungs for O2 sensors on the top of the collectors, same as the factory position. I'll get high temp coating after the dyno tune, which will be after rego.

Sambo,
I have used an exhaust system from a vz clubsport the mufflers just fit although the cats were too big, purchased some steel core cats from US. Also used the resonators from a VE exhaust system. The fit is very tight but hopefully will work.

Thanks. I've heard the VZ cats are huge trianglular shaped things. I might just grab the VE resonators, he's selling those for $75. Long term I have my 100cpi 'racing' cats, but they're no good for rego. Good for 12kW they reckon though!
