somewhere round there

easy way to tel is check yr ecu plug
3 long rows of pins
60 pins all up means before obd2

4 rows of pins
think about 104 pins not sure off top of my head is obd2

another way to tell is i think like eb to ef or el has dizzy which is before obd2

au has 2 coil packs on front of engine which is start of obd2

Yep, I think that's what he does...counts flashes...a bit hard when they get up to 20 30 flashes. I'm looking at getting him a reader. Just plug in and do the biz. ...better than trying to count flashes. Thanks for the info.

flashes are pisss easy to count
1st batch is the tens
2nd batch is the ones
best to first find the diagnostic plug and make sure the code reader will plug into it

there are afew on ebay
average ones go for 200 or so bucks
u might as well get one that does ford obd1 and also most obd2
or u can go all out and get a hanatech like mine for 7g hehehee

OBD2 kicked-in on 1996 Models for sure, a few '95's got it though. 1990 is OBD1 for sure, as prev. mentioned.
