Default Drb top off

How hard is it to separate body from the frame? Has anybody else done this?

Yellow one at the Nationals was uncatchable......

kindling and a spark.....

Brett is not bagging Besso's car, just stiring him up a bit.

Check out the pic of Besso's DRB below. That's not a new jet propulsion system at the back.

Thanks Mike for the back up.
I wasn't bagging anyone's car just referring to an incident that happened at Winton and had a beer and a laugh with the owner the same night. Some should not jump into critisism without knowing the facts. And Mr Maxwell what makes your Robnell better than an Evans or a DRB? Isn't it just another replica?
Cheers
Brett

Why not give DRB a call I am sure Peter would help.

Besso, still impressed how you had your wits about you and stayed clam and controlled even when you saw flames coming out of the hand brake hole

And then you drove it home.

Can wait till next Shelby fest.

Aren't they mainly bonded and rivited at the sills? Would you need to remove the whole body or could you get away with cutting the back half off and just repairing/replacing that?

Hopefully some DRB experts will get on here and answer as I'm curious myself.

Cheers

I would presume that the body is bonded around the inside of the sills. If that is the case Paul, you may be able to cut (grind) the underside to release the body off the sides.

I'd also presume some bonding in the boot and engine bay areas so this may make it harder but given the repair work that has to be done, now is your chance to make a removeable body.

The G-Force and I presume RMC is held down by quite a number of bolts screwing into threaded inserts into the chassis. Perhaps you could replicate this too in some form. Only a thought.

Talk to Greg as the fibreglass guru, I'm sure he could find a way for you.

Cheers
