Default Changes to Monthly Queensland Cobra Club Meetings.

The following is part of an e-mail that I sent out yesterday to all of our Queensland members.

I thought it might be a good idea to also get this info on this forum, for the benefit of any interstate visitors that like to get along to our meetings from time to time.

We love to get visitors from the other states ( and Countries) , and they are always made to feel welcome , even if they are sometimes embarrased by the attention we ( I) give them !

For all future Cobra Club Breakfast Meetings......

We have known for some time that we were going to move the location of our monthly Cobra breakfast meeting.

The Recreation club at Sanctuary Cove had closed it's doors a while back, and we were able to get a temporary couple of months with the Country Club next door.

While we were choosing a new permanent breakfast spot, much consideration was given to all of our future requirements.

We needed to consider the following...

A place that's more central to MOST of our members, i.e. between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, in an effort to make it fairer to all when it comes to making the trip to the meetings.

A place that's not hard to get to...i.e. close to the motorway for easy access, and not too hard to find

Good Food at a reasonable price.

Plenty of safe and easily accessable parking.

Enough room for 120 plus of us in comfort.

An area to ourselves, so we can relax in each others company, and where we can run our raffles, make announcements etc.

Clean and modern.

Keeping all of this in mind, and after much consideration we have now confirmed our new breakfast venue will be.....

Where: The Deck Restaurant....at THE GLEN HOTEL.

Cnr. Logan Road, and Gaskell Street,
Eight Mile Plains.

Time : 8-00 a.m.

When: THE LAST SUNDAY MORNING OF EACH MONTH.
i.e the first one will be on Sunday 30th August 2009

Website for info : http://www.glenhotel.com.au/

I can confirm that all of our requirements as above were "Ticked off " the list...
so you should all be pleased with the place.

READ ON FOR MORE INFO......

We have had a problem for a number of years, in that we have always held the breakfast meetings on the first Sunday of each month and for many years we continually clashed with such things as Motor racing events being attended by many of our club members,The Cobra Nationals ,
Car Shows, and events that always seem to be early each month, with many of us unable to attend 4 or 5 meetings a year.

After checking back over the last couple of years, and also looking forward as far as possible,
it become apparent that the Last Sunday of each month seems to avoid this constant clashing.

SO...

As from Sunday 30th August 2009, the Cobra Breakfast meetings will be held on the
LAST SUNDAY MORNING OF EACH MONTH.

30th August,
27th September
25th October
29th. November
27th. December.....and so on.

I'm hoping there will not be too many members upset with these changes....and I know it's hard to please everyone.

Those ( so far ) who I've spoken to , can see it's mostly pretty good, and should please most members.

If not....then I'm sorry, but it was all done in the best interest of the majority.

Cheers,

Warren Boylan,

Club President,
Cobra Car Club of Qld.

Hi Warren
Bloody good choice. You are right it is a good location and venue and the last Sunday is also a good idea IMHO.
See you there in 3 years.
