Hi Sambo,

The polished bezels surrounding the door hinges are custom made. They can be obtained through Neil Streeting at Street N Track on (02) 9520-5006 or 0410343136 or by email to streeto@tpg.com.au.

Regards

Baz

For those looking for something to put on top of the ends of the crimp rubber moulding around most of our door frame edges (the options I have seen are cut them neatly off or tuck them through the fibreglass), I have seen from the Healey factory in Melb a rubber moulding 'cap' that fits exactly over the ends and seals them off. Looks quite good! Will investigate more.

Thanks Merv, please keep us informed. It's something I was also wondering about, as its noticeable with a quality job like Baz's.

Healey Factory has these for $3-4 each. They are left and right side constructed so you would need 2 of each. I have ordered some and will post on the outcome!

(Healey Factory is: 03 9872 3900

Cheers,

Thanks Merv,

I am looking into that aspect also.

I have seen two Cobras from our NSW Club that have used custom made stainless steel cappings to finish off and at the same time, dress up the exposed ends of the Pinchweld and they look great. Both have been individually fabricated by the owners and apparently, took a fair bit of work to come up with the finished product.

I am negotiating along that line to have some made up, as I'm no good at sheet metal work, but if that fails, I would love to see some pics of what you get from the Healey Factory. Could you also include the Healey Factory's Part Nos., and Catalogue Name of those Caps please?

Will you please keep me informed. I think it would also be of great interest to other Forum members.

Baz

Looks like Healey also have mota lita wheels, raydots, lights, etc. Good find!

They do and they are easy to deal with too. Gives an alternative for period parts. Mine should arrive in a few days.

And one of the company owners even owns, or at least did, an original 289 Cobra.

Merv,

Have your Pinchweld Dressing Caps arrived yet from the Healey Factory? Love to see some pics.

They are modified MX5 seats and the headrests are built in.

Steve,

Go to 'My Gallery' and scroll through it. I have a full record of my build there including the seats. Just click on the 'Camera' icon under my name at the top of this thread.

Pretty easy Baz, Just click on the name at the top of the post and view public profile. It's got his location as L.A. Just checking your profile and I would have thought a retired police officer would have done some detective work.

I learned the US name for the car through another discussion on here years ago. I seem to file little bits of info like that away in my head. I really hope there isn't a finite capacity up there because one day one of these facts will push out something I really need to know like breathing or walking.

Cheers

Thanks for helping me out Mike. 65 in a few weeks and things are getting a bit rusty upstairs. I'm,glad you told me about clicking on the name to get the profile of the person. That's something I didn't know and it's also something that I couldn't do on my typewriter in a previous life. All I have to worry about now is the breathing and walking situation and having my Cobra finished before they close the lid.

No Problem Baz. I'm still learning my way around here and I've been on here for a few years now. There's all sorts of interesting features and functions on this forum.
