Much better Spook - looks more in keeping now and should widen the saleability on the car.
These cars are not the easiest to sell especially when you want serious dosh.
A very limited audience given the $$$$ they need to part with.
As long as time is on your side then they eventually go, but time is the overriding issue.
I'm assuming the Cobra needs to go before the new project gets off the ground. I hear you maybe the support act for the Edge machine in October

Hey Pete, thanks for the thumbs up... I never ran it like this but I really like it now... Even more than before..
Funnily enough, the 2 guys that have looked at the car never haggled over price as such save for the usual haggle, twas more thre respective finance people weren't prep'd to cough up the $'s. As far as I am aware they never went on to buy a less expensive car but I could be wrong ...
I'm not really fazed if it sells either way. But its sad seeing such a beautiful car "sit" in my garage and not be enjoyed. Work, family and my new project keep me away from it. But when I move, if it comes with me then I won't be too upset..
As you can see the new car is on its wheels and residing in my garage. It's well advanced. Another month or 2 and it'll be ready. You "hear" correct too... for a smokey ole windsor it is a little high on the dba scale!

Out of the loop mate
Haven't been down to Eight Mile Plains for a while as been busy extending the ranch.
Now got to find the rest of the cash to pay for the extras
Had Scotty lined up for some Cobra work only to spend the money on bricks and mortar.
At least next time we get round to host a Cobra function the patio can fit a couple 100 more!
Might even get Les to cross the bridge and venture south for once

Les will so too ........ one day
Just like Les will one day visit the Southside swamp lands at a respectable hour and take advantage of a standing invite Les has been sitting on for too long a time.
Matt, don't you let these semi-retired academics and engineers give you any grief mate. Blu$$y stirrers they are

It may need to be a kidnapping one day Les ... The old Eumundi brewery is gone now but that would have been a nice venue. Could be a good choice for our first Sunshine Coast drive Matt?

Merv, Given Matt lives at the Gold Coast driving anywhere would be an improvement.
Mind you, did I read somewhere that he is moving north?.

I hear Spook is retiring to the Sunshine Coast
Maybe Les should be thinking about the same move given he's reaching an age where he can't dodge the Pelicans

Now listen here Uncle Pete.
Just because you can read my life story off the sides of the pyramids is no reason to infer I can't dodge those pelicans.
Given you engineering types installed all the pelican roosting light stanchions to the eastern side only ( note .. only has affect to those traveling south) of the old bridge then I just come home via North Lakes/Rothwell.
No need to dodge em at all.

I recall many years ago Les when I was studying vet science (an early and misguided phase) that we had to count the pelicans on the bridge lights over to Ipswich East (Redcliffe) and then develop a model to predict how many there would be in coming years. Now they have two bridges to choose from! Who woulda thunk ...

Exactly Merv, and what's not common knowledge is that the builder of the original bridge (the timber version) was old man Hornibrook who had so little regard for his engineers that he built his bridge using timber and a splash of creosote and tar rather than concrete which the engineers wanted. ... and it's still standing.
And ... what's also not common knowledge is the designer of the existing in use bridge hailed from the Northside.
Now, this very wise northside designer had three things in mind when he designed the bridge. Obviously it had to carry traffic from Brighton to the peninsular, but the two more important concerns were with those very pelicans to which you refer.
Firstly there was concern that those pelicans should only make deposits onto those traveling to Southern locals and the breeding of said pelicans should be strictly controlled to ensure that all future generations of pelicans be genetically modified to ensure that only Southside residents copped the deposits.
Hence, light stanchions only erected above the south bound lane and each stanchion only accommodate two pelicans .. hopefully one male and one female for breeding purposes.
Works a treat.
You believe me don't you?

Nothing wrong with a wooden bridge Les.
I was involved in a Project where we actually discovered a timber bridge beneath where we were excavating (back in the UK).
Turned out to be a Viking Timber Bridge
Stopped the job for 2 years!

Very good Les! (sorry for the thread stealing Matt!) Highly trained pelicans. I could tell you the story about how I hooked one of these Hornibrook bridge pelicans on my new rod one day ... but that would be impolite on this thread!
Amazing story also Peter.
Good stuff!
