under body insulation/sound deadening
Was surfing the web and found this & thought it might be useful to members. I've inquired about Oz agents and got a rapid response saying available here in 2 -3 weeks.
Here's the link http://www.lizardskin.com/
Looks pretty impressive, especially after viewint the ESPN2 video

That looks good!
Did they say where it will be available in Australia? Says in the add its fire rated and also paintable. Would be good for the engine bay, fire wall, tunell etc, even under the carpet.
Should be out by the time i need it.
Thanks for the info.

I'll post the info as soon as they let me know. If we get enough people interested we might might be able to get a bulk deal...who knows ?

Rog246, I used lizard skin on my Cobra. I sprayed the entire cockpit including footboxes, floor and behind the seats. It goes on in thin layers until it's about as thick as a credit card. The cockpit used up 1 bucket of lizard skin. You need to use a certain type of spraygun available from lizard skin because of how thick it is. When the stuff dries it is quite hard reasonably smooth. It can be sanded and painted. If you go ahead let me know and I'll send you the gun.
Regards.

Thanks Mando, where there any problems with the application ? Anything out of the ordinary-like really messy application etc or did it all go pretty smoothly ?

I dont know anything about cars but I found it easy to apply. The biggest tip I could pass on is to plastic up anything you don't want contaminated. If you follow the instructions exactly, you wont have any problems and everything washes out in water. The lizard skin sticks like sh$t to a blanket. There are a few pics in my gallery of before and after if your interested.
Regards.
