Default Garage Update # 1

Guy's,

As the Daytona paint/rebuild is a bit slow at the moment I have been able to get on with the Garage build (thanks to SNAKEN for removing all my tools and mechanic's stuff from the shed, as I am still on 1 leg ).

What a nightmare building is,,,,,, everything needs to have a permit, 3 quotes (dont they vary) tradies that dont want the work or refuse to quote.
Before

During

After

The big stuff arrives next week to remove 200CM of soil and dig the footings, 3 phase and gas line tunnels.

I reckon the Garage and Daytona will be ready for Xmas 2009.

Default How to change the capacity of your garage.

I used to have a two car garage. Now I can fit 6 in.

Now I can do a 3 Point Turn inside without taking the car out of the garage.

I had the Grange in for new brake pads and this was the lone car. Where do HSV and Holden get off with their prices. $450 for the front pads and $420 for the rear. Shopped around for cheaper substitutes, but none available.

Hey Baz is that one of those Smart brand cars?

How big are the seats in those?

I'd looked at those cars after I'd done the MX5 seat route and still wonder if they'd have fitted.

Stephen,

Yes. It is one of those Smart Cars. Powered by a magnificent 670 cc turbo charged 3 cyclinder engine. Quite a bit of fun actually. I was driving it across Tom Ugly's bridge on the Princes Highway Sylvania today when a north westerley buster suddenly hit. One minute I'm in lane 3, the next I'm in lane 1 fighting with the wheel to keep it off the Armco. Interesting vehicle. It's screaming out for an LS7 transplant.

Back to your question... I was looking at the seats and they would be great for a Cobra. A lot narrower than MX5's and fairly comfortable, considering.

Just as I suspected then but I reckon availability would be an issue.

Who makes those cars?

Slowly,

I have the CobMax seats in the Daytona, they are ADR approved, narrow, leather, have runners, removable head rests.

And well priced, how much have you spent on the MX-5 seats???

I bet close to the CobMax and the MX-5 seats are high back (which i dont like)..

My 2 cents worth,

Warwick Harrison has ADR approved seats for the Cobra that are not high-backed but have an adjustable, removable head restraint. I find these very comfortable and close to the originals.

Stiffened leg

What are cobmax seats? Are they fixed buckets, adjustable back or something else?

GForce sell fixed buckets for about 1 Gorilla I believe but for my needs I had to go adjustable and all up my seats have been 1G. These are leather with runners too.

I'm less worried about the high back seats at this time, though time may tell.

The observation of Merv's loaner seats was just a past thought of mine but any current builders might like to make the enquiries for their kits.

Have you been able to pull on your aero - pig leotards yet???

Slowly,

CobMax seats are the one's Doug uses for all new rego's as they are engineered and have teh removable head rest, they are about $2 gorilla's and they come in a few colours. Very comfy and look like a period seat.

I got the cast off yesterday so I am walking with a Michael Jackson Moon Boot At least I can waalk now.

I think I will give aerobics a miss for the rest of my LIFE..... I can send my old leotards to you if you like, I know you LOVE second hand things........
