Don't think I do Greg. It is a standard height car garage (2.65m). I have no desire to create a shed here and was wondering if there were lifting systems that could be used to raise (certainly not to a massive degree) a car in a relatively standard garage?

Hey Merv.....
What about something along these lines.......
I'm sure you could improve on the basic design....might be fun to make as well.

Ha! How did they get it up there?
I thought that there might be scissor style ones.

Shoe Horn,
HI Merv,
I was able to get the cobra on the hoist and fit karens mustang undernieth.
I cut one of the rafters out ( professionally) so that the windscreen and roll bar would fit up in the roof, had it all gyrrocked and insulated.
The roof was the standard 2600mm, I was able to stand under the cobra but I suppose I am a shortass.
Sorry could only find this pic.
Phil

Its a Propark 8 from TuffLift/DirectLift.
That is Oscar, a 64 high roof Single cab has 28 000 genuine miles on it, it is one of the best unrestored Single Cabs.
I no longer have it, its a long story

Oscar! I saw one today that was also a ute but with wooden 'slat' sides - for keeping the goats in! Very authentic looking piece of equipment.
Thanks Phil.

I am back on to getting a hoist for the Cobra. It is not for extra storage space for another car, but just general maintenance, etc. As above, I have a regular 2.5 car garage and no desire to build a shed. I have looked at the four post design but I want easy wheel access, so the two-post seems the best for me. Ceiling height is a limitation and I was looking at this one from MaxJax ( MaxJax Portable Two Post Lifting System by Dannmar ). Has anyone had experience with these?

Looks very handy for a small home garage, and easily moveable is a bonus.

Hi Merv,
With a maximum lift height of only 4 feet, you'r going to end up with a pretty sore back if you'r under there for a prolonged period. Just a thought.

They have this nice roller chair arrangement Baz and that is a whole lot better than the axle stands. MaxJax Portable Two Post Lifting System by Dannmar

Neat Rob! I am half way thru installing my MazJax right now. Very well made it seems and I like the way I can just roll the pillar away when I want to have a fully open garage. A Porsche does something for the look of a garage however ...

Rob, Dunno if the MazJax would be suitable on the peninsular.
I've heard Redcliffe will be under water as a result of Global warming so you'll need something a little higher.
I do like the MazJax tho, just the ticket for small garages and sheds.

Will do on the weekend Rob when I have bolted the columns down and filled it with fluid. Les seems worried about water there. Beachside Les?

les i'm on the top of one of the hills so if the water tower gets its feet wet
we will
then all of brisbane would be about 6m under water
so the hoist would be above water for your use if needed to put paddles & floaties on
