Default trunk latch hole

I purchased my car 80% done, which included all the holes drilled. When my painter went to layout the strips he told me the hole for the trunk latch was not centered. Instead of delaying the paint job, I had him finish. Now I need to fix the problem. See picture

my thought is to use JB weld to fill the hole them redrill in correct spot. I think the small screw hole on the right will mostly be covered

I am affraid I will have issues with the trunk latch mechanism, since it sits in that pocket

Any input on if this will work? Any other ideas?

Thanks, Jim

I decided to leave the trunk latch as is for now (off center).
What holds the trunk latch handle in place in the 2 small holes?
The hood latches go all the way though, but the trunk on does not and there is no room to get a nut up in there

Thanks, Jim

I used wood style screws that attached to the fiberglass.

I still havent fixed this. I am thinking of covering the hole with the license plate and using an electric latch. I was wondering if anyone has done this on a B&B? I am looking to see what the latch was from and how you mounted it.

Thanks, Jim

I know a guy that used a cable release he got from a wrecking yard. It wasn't on a B&B though. It seemed to work really well.

If you lay out stripes you'll also find the hood scoop is not centered. This is because the use of the sidewinder intake which makes it off center. Jim
