hood clearance

Does anyone have a problem with clearance for your air filter?
I have a 428 in an LA Exotic. With standard oval air cleaner with a 1" tall filter. I have about 1/2" clearance under my hood.
I would like to put in a taller air filter and maybe a 1" carb spacer but don't have the room.
Does anyone know of a different hood, rivit on scoop, or something to provide more heigth? How about a different air filter that will flow more air???

If you don't mind painting and installing a different hood, Bryan has one with a taller scoop that he made for the big block with a turkey pan boys. Go to the web site and click on the owners group and scroll down to Herb Schmidt and see what the scoop looks like. Herbs engine is a SVO crate with a turkey pan.
