Extending E-Brake Rod
My E-Brake came with a short rod and a triangular shaped "T" at the end with notches for the two e-brake cables. Their is a hole in the top of the T for the rod to slide through. There are two shapr bends at the end of the rod that lock into this hole. The rod is about 2" too short. I thought, after consulting with someone else, no problem, I will pick up a peice of threaded rod and throw two bend in it on a vice. I got the first bend on the first try. Could not get the second bend in, and finally worked the metal enough to where the first bend cracked off. Attempts to make further bends just cracked the threaded rod. Any suggestions? Should I just get a rod coupling and join a short length of rod to the existing rod? Should I get a custom cable made instead? Should I take the old rod somewhere (where?) and have them bend me a new rod?
