Default E-Brake Handle Mounting

I am trying to mount my e-brake. I drilled the holes in the braket prior to putting the fiberglass on. I had to extend the rod about 3" to reach the cables. After doing so, the mount wants to bend. Another member had the same problem. I put the fiberglass on and was going to see how it worked with that on. Now, I am confused. Does the handle mount over th fiberglass? Between the mount and the fiberglass? It looks like I need to cut into the glass to mount the handle, does this seem right? I saw some patch work in this area on someones build site, so I am sure that I do need to cut in, but want to make sure. What are other's experiences with this?

Thanks for the input,
Tom

Hi,

You were probably referring to my site in your message. I will list the address again if you need it. I took some pictures of the e-brake install. The way you see it is the way B&B installed it. It works great! I didn't have to touch a thing. Good luck

Jim
