Unhappy Need Help!

Hey Bryan Anderson ! I bought some gauges from a B & B owner. They are the Faria gauges. I don't have the fuel tank sender...do you have an extra one?
I also need to know which Water Temp sender do I use. I have 2 of them, 1 has a long bottom...and the other is a short bottom on the sender. I hope this makes sence. I have know idea what the temperatures of these senders are either. Is the battery gauge always reading the voltage even when the car is turned off?
Man I must sound like a total idiot. Gauge wiring....sucks!!
Thanks Bryan
Snake.

Default Try USBoat.com

If Bryan can't help with the sender, try these guys. They're a Faria dealer, and I used them to special order some mechanical temp guages for my B&B. Pretty good customer service folks at US Boat.

Good luck, Alan

Snake,

I am not sure about the temp. senders, but no, my voltmeter does not read when the car is shut off. I have it wired through the switch. No need for the continual, though small drain on the battery.

Snake,

I think I have an extra fuel sender for Faria gauges and several gauges. I will look tonight and send you an email tomorrow.

But, for your info the fuel sender is a GM style and can be bought from several places. Your temp gauge should have a probe about 1 1/2"long that fits in the top of your intake manifold.

Hey Clois! That would be great. I'll check on the temp senders..I got 2 of them...and I'm sure there is one like you explained.
Thanks Buddy!

My car is also a B&B/LA Exotics and I too need a fuel sender that is compatible with Faria Gauge. I beleive the Faria gauge is 240-33 Ohms, while my current sender is 0 - 90 ohms. In addition, the sender also has the fuel feed incorporated with the sender.

I'd like to buy one too if there's one available (240-33 ohm sender) with the fuel feed incorporated.
Thanks...

There is a difference between the LAX and B&B tanks. The LAX are steel tanks from a late model Mustang. The B&B are plastic. You'll need to take into account the different tank depth and mounting flange if fitting a sender for a B&B.

Thanks for the info! Is your fuel sender a combination fuel sender and fuel feeder (tube)? If so, do you know the Ohm range?

go big,

Unfortunatelty, my gas gauge doesn't work. I bought the car complete, so I'm making my way through it to de-bug. I haven't got around to fixing this yet. My existing tank, which is a steel tank from an ('89?) Mustang, has two senders - an upper and a lower. Here is what I've figured out so far.

Gauge/Sender - Resistance
Empty - Ohms
Full - Ohms

Faria Gauge - Unverified
240
33

Ford 1(my upper sender)
73
10

Ford 2(mylower)
16
158

I have found that the bottom line is that neither sender is compatible with the unverified Faria Gauge spec.

If the Faria gauge is as above, the only reasonable solution that I can come up with is to:

Buy, modify, and install a Faria or Stewart-Warner “Universal” sender in the lower section of the tank.

Best cost estimate - $25 + tax + shipping for a Stewart-Warner (could not find price for Faria)

Will need to modify the sender to fit my tank depth (a feature of the sender) and mounting flange (not a feature of the sender).

Could be made to accurately send very close to “E” when tank is empty, and close to “F” when full.
